Better Made / Best Price

Better than OEM and cheaper. I had time before installation so I polished the aluminum. Melling has a polished version, it came out great!

Pros
  • Satisfied so far
Cons

Replacement required LS.: Water Pumps

The Mellings pump is the best thing you can buy. Includes gaskets and everything you need. I'm a lover of LS swaps, swapping 4.8, 5.3, 6.0 etc for just about anything. This is my favorite pump. Do it once and you're done!

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not sure

Just buy it best in Water Pumps

By far the best LS pump money can buy. Perfect fit, all critical external dimensions are exactly the same as the GM factory pump but with better performance. Paired with a Champion triple-row aluminum radiator and my 6.0 Escalade, the cars climb long, steep hills without breaking a sweat. Very good product.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled

2004 Yukon Denali works great and fits

Have used many Melling products in the past and was not disappointed with this purchase. Reasonable price and in the original packaging. Definitely peace of mind. Replaced it with my wife's Yukon because her water pump was spewing coolant under the floor. Came with high quality pads. Don't hesitate and don't buy too cheap as it's not a terrible setup but I wouldn't want to do it again.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Available in black only

Leaking and noisy in less than three months - 1200 miles

All GM V-8 engines require a new water pump after approximately 120,000 miles. (Long-life orange coolant has less lubricity than older green coolant, causing seals to fail sooner and then leaks.) I've had mixed results with pump replacements over the years, so spent the extra money to use this more expensive melt pump . No problems for a few weeks but now it's noisy and slowly starting to leak around the shaft seal. Sigh. Still not bad enough to justify the time, cost of another pump, and $25…

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • old
