📀 Grab the Memorex 700MB/80-Minute 4X CD-RW Media (10-Pack with Slim Jewel Cases) for Optimal Storage! Review

I'm sure it's a good product but these CD-RWs didn't work in my old standalone CD writer. They are made for units that burn faster.

I ordered 5 boxes of these CD-RWs. The first box had 3 bad drives - when I tried to format them before using them for backup, I got a "damaged or defective area on drive" message. Looking at them, I saw many scratches on the shiny side (not all in one place) on the drives where this error message appeared. On the plus side, undamaged discs work just fine, and slim jewel cases save space. .

I have bought two packs of these turkeys in the last year or so and will NEVER buy ANY memorex product again. I bought the first pack based on the number of discs and the price, attributing the poor quality to an accident. This week I was more cautious - I asked the Office Max salesman if the discs really were rewritable and he replied that they should be. Thought I might have bought a box of these that fell off or something. The first three of the four discs in the Memorex box were marked as "unreliable" by my computer after trying to confirm the burning. I recorded other discs (from Fuji - CD-R and CD-RW) on the same day with no problems. I came here and saw that the problem with Memorex discs has been there for at least five years! Ouch! This is ethically unacceptable. It's one thing when a company makes a mistake (isn't it) but doesn't fix it

We tried them on two different Windows 10 computers and neither liked them. I ended up going back and spending more to buy a Sony, but the computers didn't have a problem with it.

Like many others, I grabbed a pack of these on the way home to make an mp3 CD for my car (I prefer rewritable CDs for my car because my tastes change every week ) . I wonder how many people who have looked at these discs even *think* that their discs or software could be the problem? from 5 different companies (Sony, Phillips, Acer, Yamaha, Lite-On). On the software side, I used the latest versions of Easy CD Creator, DirectCD, Nero Burning Rom, Nero InCD, NTI Cd-Maker and NTI FileCD. Not a single problem.
