Tightened: radio accessories

Can be made to work with great trouble. The kit is suitable for many different models, so there is a lot of extra plastic in the bin.

Pros
  • super price
Cons
  • repair

Didn't need an electrician

Bought to install a double din Atoto A6pro in 1999 Tacoma but never had to open the box no need, a little trimming of the factory brackets was all that was required.

Pros
  • Very good value
Cons
  • Low repairability

Don't worry about spare parts

Very bad product. Things aren't done right. It's designed to fit many models and years, but it's just not great. The bag doesn't fit at all. Also with complete frame. There are 3 frameworks to fill gaps like this, but they don't even work.

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Doubtful

Good quality kit best in radio accessories

Received the Metro Multi Kit in time to install a new double din radio in Toyota. Turns out I didn't need it [the existing infrastructure was left over from a previous installation]. However, the kit looked well put together and ready for a variety of models.

Pros
  • Dope πŸ”₯
Cons
  • Negative impression

Lots of light and e-waste

So much extra plastic to recycle. I felt bad for not getting the exact right kit because you don't use that much of it. Even with all the brackets, you still have to cut some to get the brackets to fit the radio. Great cheap product for what it is

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

It hurt and didn't fit at all

I bought this kit to use on a '98 Tacoma and ended up just using the bottom drawer opening. Depending on the car, the brackets had to be shortened and still didn't fit properly. I ended up doing it as shown in most of the other installation videos and using standard brackets. Wouldn't buy again but think it will work for some Toyotas?

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Almost OK

15 pack to get 2

As many have mentioned - I needed two pack to fit a stereo in my 2001's - and the only option was to buy this one which comes with 10 brackets, a bag for a din, and some frames. It seems wasteful to cut off two parts and throw away the rest. The tongues I had to cut off were difficult to trim, I actually used pruning shears haha. Once the tabs were cut, simple, efficient, works great, did the job.

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Slightly torn

3rd Gen 4Runner - Pioneer AVH-1550NEX

I bought a Metra kit for a 2DIN Pioneer AVH-1550NEX to be used in a 1997 3rd Gen 4Runner. You'll need to cut off a few tabs, I used a dremmel to make them flush. After all was said and done, the block fit but was about 1/4" in. It works but my concern was that it wasn't flush. I tried other hole patterns and even some other clips but nothing worked .I installed the unit for about a week it bothered me too much and I ended up buying standard aluminum brackets for about the same price and it…

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • weak

Terrible for a single din radio

I bought this kit to fit an Alpine CD-172BT single din radio to a 1999 4Runner Limited. I've installed many car stereos over the last 25 years and usually have no problem getting "universal" sets to work after a few modifications. I was able to hook up the wiring harnesses, 2 amplifiers, component speakers in the doors, a subwoofer, noise isolation and MLV with no problems. But this kit made everything look like a stereo when installing the 101. Due to the hole pattern on the radio, I couldn't…

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Very expensive
