Description of 🧄 Efficient Ginger Preparation Made Easy: Microplane 3-in-1 Ginger Grater Tool in Sleek Black and Grey

BEST GINGER TOOL: When it comes to ginger, the fibrous root is hard to grate and cut. The Microplane ginger tool with its ultra sharp grating surface cuts swiftly and cleanly, allowing all the flavor and health benefits shine through without making you work for it. The flat design is easy to hold, and fits in a drawer, a chef bag, or in a utensil holder. GINGER PASTE: Mince your ginger into a perfect paste to use to gain full flavor in any pho, broth, or stir fry. The extra sharp triangular shaped teeth grip the ginger and shred it so that the juice and the fiber stay together, and don't separate. Designed to grate directly over a bowl, pot or pan, this tool works with frozen ginger root, or fresh ginger root. You can mince garlic, and turmeric too! The grating blade is housed in a small oval to help guide the ginger back and forth across the bl. GINGER SLICES: The little mandolin at the base of the ginger tool is extra sharp, and comes with a reusable cover to keep hands safe. This cooking utensil, will aid when making pickled ginger, or ginger slices for added flavor, or to use as a digestive. The slices are ultra thin and uniform. The tool is multi-purpose, our staff has cut green onions, baby carrots, and garlic on this tool as well. Keep it handy for any meal prep. PEEL GINGER: Why peel ginger? The ginger peel adds texture and a little bit more "spice", so if you want a smooth texture, and clarity of color, peel away. The Microplane ginger grater has a little plastic knife on the side, which peels ginger as easily as a spoon, but without having to get another item dirty. EASY TO CLEAN: The ginger tool is easy to clean, just rinse after use, and put in the dishwasher. The stainless steel grating blade is made in the USA.

Not just for ginger!

Used for instant rubs of garlic, shallot, ginger, turmeric and galangal. Simply grate and use to add a powerful flavor to sauces. Garlic and shallots add French flavor so not just for Asian/fusion recipes. Fast, easy to use, overall easy to clean. The mandolin is a bit small for large pieces of ginger and the slices can be wedged in the indentation. It has replaced my garlic press and my usual garlic and ginger microplate (but not for other foods like cheese).

Pros
  • Very impressive
Cons
  • Everything is great

Came back ginger grater

I had to put 1 star to write a review. I read a rave review from Epicurious.com so I was surprised to be utterly disappointed. I returned this grater for a number of reasons. The cleaner was useless, a teaspoon in hand works like a charm. The grater was difficult to reach. It would be more efficient if the grate was placed "face down". The cutting blade is also awkward to reach and very sharp. I'm a chef so my standards may be more precise or picky, but I found this grater more challenging. .

Good grater, regular slicer

I've had a larger Microplane for a long time, but decided to give this one a try because it does everything you want to do with ginger in one tool, saving you time Washing multiple tools. Well, the grater worked fine, the scraper cleans the ginger perfectly, but the slicer doesn't deliver wafer-thin slices as described. I thought I might have a defective part as I also had trouble installing the guard. So I ordered another one in black, this time for comparison. The slicer still didn't give me…

Pros
  • Long lasting finish
Cons
  • Infinitely slow

The tool you never knew you needed

When I first ordered this tool my girlfriend thought I was crazy. At least I already had a reasonably working Microplane. But I read about it on Healthy-ish and had to try it. A small plastic ginger peeler on the side gets you started — save yourself the hassle of getting your spoon dirty for the task. Then the razor-sharp blade slices ginger for tea or soup, or use a grater with the perfect frame and size to create beautifully grated ginger. The grater has triangular teeth that stay sharp…

Pros
  • Worth your money
Cons
  • No instructions

This combination of grater and slicer (mandolin) seemed like a good idea to me. But when I tried to remove the plastic protection on the razor-sharp mandolin, I cut myself badly. Then when I tried to replace the guard, I cut open the joint next to my fingertip. You must use a flat blade screwdriver to remove the protector and CAREFULLY to install it. I think this protection is a terrible design and sent photos and comments to the company's support man Jarett Hale on April 29th. There is no…

  • Great for me

  • Not as thick as other picks

Finally the answer to grated ginger!

I gave up four graters of ginger after purchasing this tool. I've bought one off and on over the years in search of one that works really well. Some were sweet and some worked a little better, but mostly mush. This grater really grates the ginger. And if, like me, you keep fresh ginger in the freezer, you don't need to thaw it. Simply scrape off the skin or cut it off with a knife and then grate it from frozen – works great. If you don't store ginger in the freezer and don't use ginger all the…

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Compatibility

Last night I used a grater to make a small mound of grated ginger to add to the hot oil to start frying. I didn't know how to remove the protective case so I ignored it the first time and decided to wait reading reviews and asking for recommendations. Thanks to the people who answered the removal question. And thanks to the reviewer for pointing out how sharp a real blade is. With this guide in mind, I donned the safety glove I bought with my grater, grabbed one of my heavy table knives, and…

Pros
  • I look forward to
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Wonderful kitchen utensil.

I've used this great tool several times over the past few weeks and it ranks as one of the best I've tried. Thanks to the thick plastic body, it lies comfortably in the hand and is also relatively easy to clean. I wish the grate window was a bit bigger, but the current size is enough for most jobs, it works well for garlic too. Does a great job of grating/grinding without producing a good sized pulp. I haven't used the cutting blade that much, but it's also easy to use, the long notches help…
