Microsoft hardware continues to disappoint

Why can't Microsoft get anything to work? With the exception of the software (and that's another topic), every MS item I've bought is crap. I have a Surface 3 that I've never been happy with (why would I?) and recently bought a wireless display adapter. I downloaded the app a few times before it stopped freezing on my computer (windows 10) but when I try to use it (to stream the signal from my laptop to my TV) it sometimes works briefly and then crashes downloaded from the computer on…

It works but not on all my Windows 10 devices

This key works great for my Android phones and a friend's Windows 8.1 laptop. Unfortunately it does not work on my surface pro 4 with windows 10. I am disappointed that the microsoft hardware key does not work on microsoft hardware running microsoft software when used with a mobile phone made by lg with the software made by flawlessly works google. I can't recommend purchasing until Microsoft fixes the issues preventing Windows 10 from properly connecting to their own hardware. PS: I've already

Pros
  • Rugged design
Cons
  • Definitely a bad product

You can wirelessly project your screen including video (it also transmits sound!) from Windows 10 devices. It connects to HDMI, so if you have something with an HDMI port, like all modern smart TVs, projectors or monitors, you can project onto it. projected on. USB is for power - you can use a portable cell phone charger to power the projection! I will be using it to project onto my students (I'm a teacher) and will be using it with my Surface Book 2's drawing capabilities. Much better than a…

(Almost perfect! in DVI to HDMI adapters

I don't know why others had so many problems with this adapter, I almost didn't want to try it but I'm glad I did because it's everything I expected and wanted! I've used this with both my TV and my projector and they both worked great. There were no issues setting it up or connecting it - it just worked (when used with my Surface Book 2). Some reviewers mentioned that you need to be very close to the adapter for it to work, but I haven't experienced this problem.I've used it at over 10ft and…

Works great in my classroom

I connected this device to the ceiling projector in my classroom. I can now access the projector from my laptop via Bluetooth instead of a long HDMI cable across the floor. I connected a second monitor to my laptop via the HDMI port and was able to set the projector to mirror the second monitor. I can now conduct online classroom sessions on a second monitor (which is mapped to my projector for any students who are live) and leave my laptop as something to work on and use without interrupting…

Great for people who don't have WiFi at home

My grandparents don't have cable TV or internet at home, just a standard TV antenna that gets two channels on a good day. But they have a Samsung Note 5 and are familiar with YouTube, Netflix, etc. This adapter works wonders for them. easy to set up and doesn't require a local Wi-Fi network like Chromecast or Firestick Revain. It was as simple as connecting to a TV and enabling screen mirroring on the Note 5. Now they can easily watch their videos and the like on the big screen. The best thing…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • Quality

After more than 200 hours of use I can say that this is a definite improvement over the original Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, albeit not perfect. Pros: No more blocky images or constant updating when using this as an extended desktop. MUCH smoother frame rates than the original adapter. It can now be used as a great wireless monitor solution for most web browsing content, presentations or image slideshows, and 24fps movie content (more on that below). as close as possible to a basic…

Almost returned

Update after difficult installation: Audio and video often drop out even though computer is 8 feet from TV (I'm streaming local MP3 content). If I could choose less than 1 star I would. waste of money. In my case, all I had to do was run an HDMI cable from the PC to the TV. Initial review: This device took 40 minutes to play around with, despite years of experience with Windows 10. What the instructions don't say is that you must first download and install the Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter

He does what he says

-- I've had it for a long time. High definition videos are not streamed. When you try, your TV shows "choppy, choppy" etc. As far as I can tell, no set like this supports 1080p yet. Again, don't believe the casting ads you see. 720p is crap shooting, but it happens most of the time. In general, the smaller the video, the less clear it is, the more likely it is to send successfully. First, don't put too much stock in what the ad says about broadcasting what you're watching on your media device…
