He does what he says

-- I've had it for a long time. High definition videos are not streamed. When you try, your TV shows "choppy, choppy" etc. As far as I can tell, no set like this supports 1080p yet. Again, don't believe the casting ads you see. 720p is crap shooting, but it happens most of the time. In general, the smaller the video, the less clear it is, the more likely it is to send successfully. First, don't put too much stock in what the ad says about broadcasting what you're watching on your media device or computer to your TV. Setting up "Casting" isn't easy, fun, or reliable, but it is possible. To sum up, you can get a device designed for Apple devices, a device designed for Windows devices or a device designed for Android. device, or one that tries to do everything. This device is specially designed to stream from the latest Windows device. Period. One end of the device connects to the TV's HDMI port, and the other end (for power) connects to the TV's USB port. If these are not available and if they are close together, there will be problems with the setup. The USB extension cable is included, but it's short. If you only have an HDMI port, you can use a longer USB cable to connect to a power outlet as long as you have a standard USB power adapter. Area? Think back to the old days when we first had "portable" phones. If you leave the room and are near a "noise source" such as a space heater, hair dryer, or refrigerator, you may lose signal. The rule of thumb is to stay within 20 feet of your TV and don't move too much. Setup is easy, but doesn't come with any instructions other than what's shown on screen. You need to know how to change the input on your TV to an HDMI port for the device, and you also need to know how to connect to a Miracast device on Windows 10 or on a Windows Miracast-enabled phone. (Google it.) If you're streaming from a computer, you'll need to turn on the computer's wireless connection, which may not be the case if you're using a "wired" connection. You also need to know how to set up the display in Duplicate mode instead of the default Expand mode. You need to remember all of this as you may need to remove the non-working Miracast device and add it back in between uses. With all this, the device corresponds to the advertising. I can stream the perfect multimedia picture from my PC (nearby) to my TV. However, it does not work as a second monitor because there are delays when moving the wireless mouse. It's part of the "art" of casting. You may have to experiment with different devices to get what you want. The mouse lag makes it impossible to use the TV screen. Other mice may work better. My wireless keyboard works great. Having received this device specifically and only for casting environments, I am satisfied now. I'm sure the negative reviews you see about these casting devices are because people don't understand the casting process, buy cheap, expect too much, or don't know how to set up the devices (they all come with lousy instructions). Also, like this one, don't buy a device that requires you to press a button to switch modes. Once installed on a TV, this is impractical. This device can be controlled via a downloadable Microsoft app, but if you don't have a compatible Windows Phone, you don't need anything other than what comes with your Windows 10 operating system to set it up and manage it. and many of them claim to support multiple modes (Apple, Android and Windows). Supported by both Android and Windows, Miracast is the "most sensitive" so I chose a specific device for my device - a computer running Windows 10. Not all Miracast devices support Windows, or don't support it properly or are just not very good good. My recommendation? Don't buy cheap. Don't try to get a unit that says they will do anything. Get one specifically for your device and don't expect everything advertised to be "broadcast" from one device to another. I highly recommend this device to people streaming from a Windows 10 PC to a TV. I don't have a Windows phone and I'm too stingy to ever buy a premium phone or tablet with storage and processing power to try this.
