New isn't always better (at least in settings)

I originally brought this mouse model to a stock Winter Blue model 5 years ago (Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 3000 - Winter Blue) for about US$30 -Dollars at Known computer electronics store for my company laptop. I liked the fact that it was plug and play where I just plugged it into my company laptop with the default drivers loaded (it was an HP business laptop with Windows XP installed) and when I wasn't using it I could connect the receiver the receiver. the back of the mouse…
