I can only really compare them to cheap nameless scissors that were worn out when I got them. However, they worked well with sheet aluminum. It cuts to 0.040" 2024-T3, pretty good for me.
Good product but be aware when ordering that this is not the left offset scissor we normally use in HVAC. Make sure you order an offset to the left if you're used to it.
Well made, with forged metal blades, an ergonomic handle and even Torx screws - no traditional Philips sockets. Cuts like a knife through butter. Incredibly easy to cut, I had no idea my old single ended tin snips were so bad.
I needed to remove the bottom 7 feet of an 8 foot barbed steel wall without using the two sprinklers located on the remaining 1 foot. I removed 7 feet of slab of rock and then.snip.snip. No sawdust, no vibration, no sprinkler breakage. Worth every penny.
I don't understand why anyone would buy scissors without an offset. A complete waste of money. I am returning this order. Please do yourself a favor and make sure you order MIDWEST OFFSET Reds & Greens. That's all you'll ever need.
Midwest is a top-of-the-line professional shears. Professional commercial carpenters cut Cemco 362vs125-20 steel studs. They work great. One thing I recommend is to weld the JB on or attach the screw that holds the spring. They tend to loosen up with use.
Pros
STRONG HANDLE - Made of high strength steel, will not bend under hand pressure and effectively converts hand strength into cutting power
That sucks! They don't cut smoothly at all. They are designed for the hands of NBA players. If you have normal sized hands, good luck handling them. This quality is unacceptable for a MADE IN AMERICA product. The red ones had burrs because the cast hadn't completely worn away. I have provided an image. They're sharp enough to cut your hands. I am very disappointed with the price and all the good reviews. Wiss is 1000 times better, softer, feels good in the hand, not bad workmanship. Don't waste
Pros
LIGHT CUTTING CAPABILITY - The combination lever increases gripping force on the cutting blades by 8:1 and significantly reduces fatigue. Made in the USA
This is because I wanted something with a smooth edge. These are jagged. The nicks are very fine and I can file them down with my dremel, but the whole point was to get an edge that requires minimal trimming. So they work exactly as intended, very sharp and easy to use (if you know what you're doing), but despite other reviewers' comments to the contrary, they definitely leave a finely jagged edge on whatever you cut. (Just wanted to clarify.) Otherwise, a great product that I highly recommend.
Pros
COMFORTABLE GRIPS - Kush'N Power grips follow user's hand movements and jagged ribs prevent hands and fingers from slipping
