We live in Los Angeles where the water is hard and the salt takes a lot out of keeping our dishes clean. One of the reasons why the Miele dishwasher is our favorite kitchen appliance.

Comes with a single plastic bag, which makes it easier to pour salt into the tank (it is enough to cut off a corner with scissors). Much better than the standard single serving package. One downside is that each "serving" contains less salt than a standard disposable box.

When I ordered this I wasn't aware that the huge box contained packets of pre-measured salt. No more guessing how much to pour in the dishwasher. As soon as the dishwasher asks me to add salt, I simply cut the corners off two bags and refill, which complements the tank perfectly. Easy to work with, easy to clean. A great idea.
