Size helps save money.

I was happy to find food grade mineral oil in gallons. Since mineral oil needs to be reapplied regularly, buying it in small bottles can be expensive. Using a funnel, I poured some oil into a smaller bottle, which I then used to apply the oil. Yesterday I applied this product to my butcher island, pull out cutting boards, knife handles and cooking spoons. I have a lot of firewood and used about half of the smaller bottle. It was great knowing I saved money by buying the 1 gallon.

Pros
  • Great for outdoor activities
Cons
  • No potency

I read the reviews but ordered anyway.

I read the reviews but ordered this mineral oil anyway. It appears to be a full gallon, although there is no "safety seal". It's good that it didn't leak and it came out fine. No smell and works great. I can't tell from the mineral oil I've had for 16 years. If you're on the fence I would buy it. UPDATE: Have used it to process a lot of wooden kitchen utensils. Works perfectly. He heated a little on the stove and melted it in edible beeswax. Pour the mixture into a glass jar. Once cool, I apply

Very happy with the product

My need for this product was different than most, firstly it came more very quickly. Try linseed oil, good, but you have to make sure that it is applied thinly and dries evenly, otherwise yellowish burrs will remain. After much deliberation, I wanted to try food grade mineral oil. Found my gallons at Revain, great price so ordered three gallons. We have made a room so far. Very satisfied! Will be one if you are happy with the customers coming back and needing this. Plus, you always have a wide…

That's best said in the House Cleaning section

I gave mineral oil 5 stars because it matches my new butcher countertop. He watered himself in the middle of the thirsty and dry forest. I don't have a comparison, but it should extend the life of your cutting board. This is my first experience with mineral oil. It has no smell. This turned my raw birch block orange/rusty. The more I use, the deeper the orange gets, but that's what makes it from my research. I wanted a different color so I used coffee and sanded, then used steel wool, vinegar…

Exactly what it should be

Fantastic product at a reasonable price. I originally bought this because I was done making a cutting board for slicing meat and needed to work on it. I poured it into a small bottle (there are tons of kitchen stuff). It became easy to spray the oil where I needed it and then rub it into the wood. After that, I attacked all the other wooden objects that I neglected. I've also used it to lubricate and condition some of the moving parts on my kitchen blenders, blenders, etc. I highly recommend…

The packaging container was ridiculous. Product works well

I would give this a four if I hadn't gotten the oil! I ordered 2 gallons and they were placed in a box that lay on its side! These are gallon jugs, similar to a windshield washer bottle, with a plastic screw cap. Luckily we only lost about 12 ounces. but it completely soaked the box and packing materials. Didn't feel like it was worth the hassle or time to send it back and wait for another batch so we used it anyway. I bought this mineral oil for a woodworking project I was working on for my…

Ideal for cutting boards

Mineral oil is mineral oil is mineral oil. The name is a bit imprecise as "mineral oil" is a distillate of crude oil. While mineral oil comes in a variety of densities, it is essentially the same for all woodworking purposes, regardless of brand. The "baby oil" that sells for 10 times the price is just a "scented" version of the same mineral oil. All of the "specialty" meat block oils sold under various brand names that claim patented "formula" and superior performance are most likely the same…

This stuff is perfect. You don't have to spend any money for this.

This material is perfect. No need to spend money on the condition of a small cutting board bottle. Your best bet is to buy a gallon of this and a set of 12-ounce bottles. Almost all of your wood terms are mineral oil. It is a clear, odorless oil that is excellent for cutting boards. I have a 36 inch Catskill cutting board, I oiled the entire surface and left it overnight. The next day I wiped off the excess with a paper towel. The cutting board will be slightly darker in color as the oil…

It did an incredible job on my sink!

I saw somewhere that you can restore a granite composite sink by cleaning it with a mixture of baking soda and vinegar and then after it has dried completely using mineral oil to make it look good like new. This product was a great value for the crowd and it did the job! My new sink is looking great again after I thought it had been damaged by plaster of Paris and other debris when it was left uncovered when a worker was working on our kitchen remodel and I wasn't there! (Too bad I didn't take…
