    Son's favorite undershirt

This mid-weight merino wool base layer for babies offers the same natural properties as other wool shirts, but is as soft and non-itchy. It is moisture wicking, has a UPF 50 rating and is rated for high operating temperatures from 0°F to 30°F. Ideal as a base layer for a day on the slopes. Our son always prefers to wear this t shirt over other base layer shirts he has. It's well made and I've washed it >10 times with no problems. Looks like he made it the day we got it.

    Pros
    • Perfect fit with elastic collar and cuffs
    Cons
    • May not breathe like other materials

Soft, warm top made from merino wool

This sweater is very warm and soft. He's a little big. My daughter is athletic, 58 inches tall and 65 pounds. I ordered a large (based on her size) and it is large for her. She needs an environment. We love the thumb holes and the longer sleeves to keep her hands warm. It washes very well according to the label instructions and will not shrink in the tumble dryer at low temperatures. The material is wonderful. A bit pricey for our budget though. Overall we love this wool top - I would give it…

    Pros
    • Easy care with machine washable and tumble dryable fabric
    Cons
    • Other materials can be more economical and practical.

A little big. good for me

The XS in this shirt fits more like an S - my tall 3 year old can usually wear an XS with no problems and this shirt is quite large for her. But she still loves wearing it! She loves how warm yet lightweight it is. The color is also very pleasant. Easy to wash on a normal cycle and in the dryer. And as much as we love it, I'm not sure it's worth $60.

    Pros
    • I think it's a little bigger than I expected but very warm, soft and comfortable for winter. My son with sensitive skin loves it!
    Cons
    • too small

I love this merino wool top for my daughter!

I have tried several items from Minus33 and have been happy with all of them. This is the first item I've ordered from their kids line and it's the same great quality I've come to expect from a brand. I'm an outdoor enthusiast and a big fan of merino wool in general for its moisture-wicking properties. This is an improvement over synthetics as merino wool does not absorb body odor and promotes microplastics. This top is made from 100% merino wool. Minus33 calls this top "middleweight". It has a

    Pros
    • The company supports sustainable development with environmentally friendly methods.
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for long periods of outdoor play

Incredibly soft and warm - with thumb holes!

This is a very high quality sweater that I expect will last for many years. I chose black so I don't have to worry about stains and can be passed on to my son when my daughter outgrows it. My daughter is only 3 so size XS is still too big for her but looks like a cute sweater dress with leggings and sleeves rolled up. We live in Florida so this sweater will only be used during the winter and on our trips north to Illinois. It is very warm, soft and cozy. Makes a great holiday gift!

    Pros
    • Made in a classic black color that will go with any outfit.
    Cons
    • Can shrink if washed incorrectly

As good as smart wool and icebreakers

I am an avid hiker and bought Icebreaker merino wool base layers as well as Smart Wool, this was my first brand from minus33. I must say that in terms of quality it is not inferior to other brands. This mid-weight merino wool baselayer shirt is soft and well-tailored. All important seams are double-stitched. The fit was as expected. The sleeves have thumb holes so you can use them almost like gloves if you don't have gloves. The shirt is machine washable. 1 year warranty (2 years if you…

    Pros
    • Can be worn alone or as a layer under other clothing
    Cons
    • May not be as comfortable if worn for a long time

    GREAT team (and color!)

This is a very, very good team. If you're buying one, you probably already know what cool merino wool is. This is one of our year-round outdoor athletics fabrics here in the Bay Area and in the mountains. It absorbs moisture, does not absorb odors, it is soft, warm and light. One thing you should know about merino wool: it is light, but WARM. You need a light, high-performance material for warm days. It is the right choice for moderate autumn and winter or for more altitude (we camp and camp a…

    Pros
    • Naturally wicks moisture to keep kids dry and comfortable during activities
    Cons
    • Not suitable for all weather conditions

How can wool be so soft?!

I was hesitant to buy something in wool for my 3 year old daughter but we needed something warmer than her cotton/poly blend items. She's a bit picky about comfort, but I have a pair of Minus33 wool socks that I really like and they don't itch at all. And other reviews claim it's boring. I can attest that this shirt is very soft, almost as soft as your favorite fleece blanket. It feels light, so it shouldn't get very hot. Thumbholes help keep sleeves down when adding layers. And the material is

    Pros
    • Made from odor resistant material to keep babies fresh and clean.
    Cons
    • The fabric may be itchy in some children.

love love love! - my new rating

This is a great kids sweater. It's super thin and doesn't itch. It provides the perfect layer on very cold days and when worn alone will keep you warm on chilly mornings! The length of the hand is slightly longer due to the holes for the thumb. She never complained that it was itchy. I turn it inside out and wash it on medium speed and then hang it to dry. Only good things to say!

    Pros
    • Ideal for indoor and outdoor activities such as skiing, hiking and camping.
    Cons
    • May not be versatile enough for a child's wardrobe.

The arms are a bit long but overall well made.

Got this for my nephew and it fits him well everywhere except his arms. The arms seem too long for this size. However, he simply rolls up his sleeves and joins in. The wool is very soft and he says it's very warm. I know it's designed as a first layer, but he doesn't need a first layer that often, so he mostly wears it as a shirt. This works fine for him.

    Pros
    • Great fit, she loves the thumb loops
    Cons
    • Very good; However, the hem started tearing after one wash. I don't care, but still.

The Merino wool base layer is the most effective!

My daughter doesn't complain about being prickly like wool used to be. It's soft and comfortable. She only wears this base layer of top and bottom under the ski color/jacket and that's all she needs even on very cold days. Merino wool perfectly retains heat and absorbs moisture. Much better than synthetic base layers which are not as warm and feel damp and smelly.

    Pros
    • Flat seams prevent chafing and chafing of the skin
    Cons
    • May not be enough stretch for very active kids.

    Keep them warm, you will!

This plain long sleeve black shirt is very soft for wool and a medium weight fabric. My 7 year old daughter wore it under her soccer jersey on cold game days and it was perfect! It really is a material that "doesn't itch" - my daughter would definitely complain if it felt tingly or "weird" on her skin. She fits medium perfectly - now she's a size 7/8, and she might be able to wear it next winter if she doesn't grow too much. I've also washed/tumble dried it and it doesn't fade or shrink. I'm…

    Pros
    • Perfectly warm in cold weather
    Cons
    • Limited color options

    Solid and elastic

This is a lovely little top, well made with quality materials. It is durable and elastic, holds its shape well and is comfortable to wear. A very good wardrobe in a beautiful color.

    Pros
    • kept my daughter warm during our trip
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for all children

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    My daughter loves thumb holes!

For me this is a unisex shirt for children. It's soft and warm. It has thumb holes which my daughter loves. I increased the size because I want it to last. She wears this shirt mostly as a tank top, when she needs to exercise she can wear it under her tank top or at school under her uniform shirt. That's a good shirt. I need a few more.

    Pros
    • From a reputable brand that has been making quality wool products for over 100 years.
    Cons
    • May not dry as quickly as other materials.

    Revainrating 4 out of 5

    Warm, comfortable, merino wool!

Excellent medium crew! It has a really good thickness that makes it nice and toasted. Thumbholes are a very nice touch. My daughter loves this! The only complaint I would have is that the sleeves are a bit longer, but that's not a huge issue considering how fast kids grow!

    Pros
    • Provides UPF 50+ sun protection to reduce the risk of sunburn and skin damage.
    Cons
    • Children can quickly outgrow the subject

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    Good shirt in my rating

Another love song dedicated to Minus33 lol. I have so much from this brand and will continue to get what I can. A truly high quality yet affordable Merino wool brand. Super handy for everyone in the family, from me to my kids. I look forward to my kids using this shirt for years to come as I've scaled it up and it's stretchy.

    Pros
    • Does not scratch the skin, making it ideal for sensitive skin.
    Cons
    • May not be as durable as other materials

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Good children's shirt in my opinion

This is a great shirt for kids. Merino wool keeps him warm. It's very comfortable and light. Therein lies power. Excellent quality.

    Pros
    • Stretchy and comfortable to allow children to move freely
    Cons
    • May irritate children with sensitive skin

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

A little big, do not put in the dryer.

I got this for my 10 year old son to keep it cold outside. He really likes the thumb holes. Make sure you don't put it in the dryer. My mom did this by mistake and it's like peeling so now I have to cut them off. Washes well but dries flat. I strongly encourage your kids to layer. I am thinking of ordering more for my younger son.

    Pros
    • Suitable for children of all ages and sizes
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for heavily sweating children

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

    Well-tailored garment

This is a well made garment. The material is durable, yet soft and breathable. Thumbholes are an added bonus that make the jacket a lot easier to put on; No more trying to hold the sleeve cuff. The haircut appears to be top notch. A great fall shirt on its own or as a layer on a cold winter.

    Pros
    • Provides excellent thermal insulation and regulates body temperature, keeping children warm without overheating.
    Cons
    • Not suitable for high impact activities

    Revainrating 5 out of 5

Super soft! the best in my rating

I ordered it for my 12 year old son. He is 85lbs and slim and I ordered a size large and it fits him perfectly. It's light but really soft. I am impressed with the quality of this item.

    Pros
    • Will not shrink or lose shape after washing
    Cons
    • May not be suitable for styling in extremely low temperatures.
