I was surprised to see that this device is connected to the ground side of the circuit after the fan. Even more surprising was that there is a fuse between your fan's ground and the controller. There is no fuse between the positive battery terminal and the positive side circuit of the fan motor. I ended up buying a sealed fuse holder to protect the entire fan circuit. Otherwise Units works great.

I vouch for 5. In my experience, Mishimoto has been reliable and clean. Of the options available that I saw in my fan controller search, this set turned out to be the most complete and simple.
