I am very disappointed in every way. Monoprice rebranded this low-voltage speaker wire and claimed it was 14 AWG, when in fact it's between 14 and 16 AWG. Both the insulation of the individual wires and the outer insulation are very thin and the insulation of the individual wires does not adhere firmly to the wire. With an air gap between the wire and its insulation, and this wire isn't advertised as oxygen free, I'm pretty sure corrosion will set in soon. If you want 16 AWG that might be fine,

Very low price; The wire is nice and thick and was very easy to pull. I don't think it qualifies as audiophile, but it's perfect for 99% of home theater applications; It's way better than many other cables I've bought in this price range. 99.9% of people cannot afford audiophile speaker cables for home theater installation. My 10 x 17 foot home theater with 7.2.4 Dolby Atmos took me almost 225 feet; It's probably better to overestimate than to be stuck without enough and having to order another

4/2019 Monoprice Access Series 12 AWG CL2 Nominal 2 core speaker wire/cable - 250 feet and one cardboard spool = 7.14 kg, 12 inch long with both conductors and all insulation = 26.7 grams, so it seems reasonable that the coil is actually 250 feet. A conductor with no insulation = 8.7 grams. Bare conductor (65 strands) = 8.7 grams, or 98% of the expected 8.888 grams, which is within my scale and accuracy of measurement. The rolls are well made of thick cardboard and plastic.

As you can see from the attached photos the coil is crappy end washers are cheap cardboard that falls apart and the middle round core is cheap plastic that breaks even during shipping. All 4 250ft boxes arrived with broken plastic cores in the middle and one cardboard side. So when you try to pull, the wire unwraps all over the floor. (See second photo.) I ordered and received a Monoprice cable. The coating of the wire speaks of a monocene. I'm not an audiophile, but PLEASE don't be fooled by the "high" cable and wire marketing demons.
