Doesn't work with high demand USB devices

Although it claims to work with USB webcams and it's a USB spec, I tried two different webcams that were on connected to the HDMI converter and it does not work. I would have recognized it with one of the converters, but there was no signal and it just hung. This might work with simple USB devices like a thumb drive or printer, but I'd be wary of using it with something more sophisticated like a webcam or HDMI converter. Using standard length USB cables worked fine with my devices.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Annoyed

Durable and heavy

Purchased to connect a solar charger to a CCTV camera charger and it works as intended. I put the solar charger on the ground and connect the (magnetic) camera charging cable to the cameras on my doorstep. The only problem with the cable is the weight. It's so heavy that when the camera is more than 10 feet off the ground, the weight of the cable drags the charger down. Luckily I have a way of wrapping the cable around something else so most of the cable's weight is removed from the magnetic…

  • As everything before

  • Not as good as advertised

They're great for accessories and supplies

I bought these to expand the keyboard/mouse on my Raspberry Pi. They work great and haven't had any problems. One thing to consider is that they are "active", meaning they have built-in signal amplification circuitry. They draw power for the amplifiers from the computer/device they are connected to. In my case I had to buy a higher current rated power supply for my PI to accommodate these cables as well as some other circuitry I added to the Pi. If you use them on a regular PC/Mac/Playstation…

Pros
  • Even the old ones understand

  • No power

Works great with Oculus Rift 3rd sensor.

I bought this to connect my third Oculus Rift sensor to my computer. I was afraid it would take too long, but it works great. In fact, I plugged it into the 16ft extension that came with the sensor (also from Monoprice) and it works great - nearly 50ft of USB 2.0 cable! It's high quality stuff and I'd say Monoprice should stick with it when trying to stuff your VR setup. Full 360-degree space tracking is a nice improvement over the standard dual-sensor setup.

16ft USB repeater works! This product works great

Served its purpose. It connected my MOTU M2 audio interface to my computer, which is about 10 feet long. I used the included cable that came with the M2 to connect the USB repeater to the M2. This gives good signal strength to my audio interface from my computer. The only problem is that the connection at the repeater end of the cable is a bit loose. You may need duct tape, I hope I won't. I wouldn't deduct a star for such a simple solution. It's cheap and useful. Maybe a little loose, but…

The MONOPRICE brand works great! But.

As long as you receive the product and brand as described, it works very well. I use it to control the hardware needed for laser show projectors, which allows me to use this smaller cable instead of the bulky ILDA cable. I use the 32" version and it works fine. Be careful. On a recent order I ordered more but received an unbranded copy, not Monoprice, and it didn't work. I returned it. As long as you get the real one Received version from Monoprice which comes in a hard plastic blister pack…

Didn't work for me - Accessories and supplies

I tried this on every port on my PC but it never worked. It was recognized, but all attempts to connect a device to it did not lead to anything. I even tried plugging it into an external adapter and it still didn't work. Thinking it was a bad cable I sent it back for a new one. Turns out it just doesn't work as the second showed the same behavior as the first. I don't have a specific hardware configuration and have tried it on 3 different computers with different operating systems: Windows…

Works with some devices but not others

I bought the 10m version of this cable to use with a USB to OBDII adapter and it doesn't have it for that purpose is working. The software on the PC kept saying it couldn't see the adapter when it was connected through that cable. When the adapter was connected directly to the PC, it worked perfectly. I've also tried using this cable with a couple of other devices I have on hand: a circa 2010 4GB Transcend USB stick is fine. I was able to see the drive and copy over 1GB of files back and forth.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Functionality
