2005 Ranger in Shocks

They match my Ranger perfectly. Coils Front Rear 2005 Not too hard work. Do yourself a favor and simply cut the top nut off your old shocks with an angle grinder, which will save you a lot of time.

  • Satisfied so far
Cons

Soft Shocks - Ranger 3.0

These shocks are very soft for a V6 engined Ranger, possibly due to the weight of the engine. They're good for general duties, but I wouldn't risk them anywhere. Rear equivalents are reliable.

Doesn't fit perfectly but works for the money

Assembly is easy with little effort. The top is not long enough to unscrew the rubber piece. You'll need to cut the piece of rubber in half so you can screw it back on.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • So far so good

Was very easy and hassle free

Installed this afternoon on my Ford Ranger 99 3.0L V6. Went in very easily with no problems. The ride was much better as the old ones were worn out (maybe they were the originals). The kit does not include the bottom mounting bolts, but they fit the old ones. The rear ones will be installed in a day or two, which I think will also go smoothly. Very happy with Monroe products.

Pros
  • Great overall specs
Cons
  • Requires socket

Very disappointed with the fronts

I repeat the comment of another buyer. I also bought the front and rear shocks from Partner. Very disappointed with the fronts. My old dampers ran better. After installation, my Ford Ranger now has a lot of front beans. The rear seems fine. I installed them a few months ago and about a week after installing them they were out of date. This weekend I will remove and change. I just can't stand driving a truck like that.

Pros
  • Pleasant
Cons
  • Almost everything is ok

Cheap shock absorbers don't last long

Quiet ride. I wanted to replace them immediately, but my hands just didn't reach. Just replaced them after 2 years on the truck and tested them after removal. The passenger side was still acceptable, but very bland. The driver's side was unusable. It feels like the seal broke and the charge was lost. I installed a set of Monroe OE Spectrum shocks that I bought 2 years ago when I didn't like them. Immediate driving improvement. Let's see how they hold up. I've driven the truck about 20,000โ€ฆ

Pros

Well known brand for an overall price

They are good value for money and appear to work well. The included hardware and bushings are not as good as the original shocks. They seem to have enough cushioning without being too hard or too soft, at least on a 2 wheeled 4 cylinder truck. With a heavier truck, they may not be adequately dampened. Installation is easy enough except you have to remove the top nut from the old shocks where you have to use a vise to hold the shaft from turning. If you live where the roads are salted, this canโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other picks

2011 Ford Ranger XL Standard Cab

Fits 2011 Ford Ranger XL 2.4L Standard Cab. Easy and direct part replacement. This truck has done 150,000 miles with factory shocks and the handling has deteriorated over time. Their installation immediately improved on-road handling and straightness. We never haul heavy loads in this truck and I find it to be a good standard replacement for commuting and light haulage. I am very happy with their performance. FYI, two weeks ago we replaced the rear shocks with similar Monroes. Now the truckโ€ฆ

Ford Ranger 2WD 2000 XLT 2-Door SuperCab

Monroe 32330 Front was damaged. Remove the eye nut covers. Raise the front of the truck with a jack. front wheel nuts and remove the front wheels. Lift the wheel arch apron. It's like a curtain that you can lift up, you don't have to take it down or any screws or anything. Spray the top and bottom two nuts of each old shock with a liquid wrench. A small wire brush can be used to clean the threads above the top nut for easier removal. Remove the top nut from the old shock (one came loose in 20โ€ฆ
