Description of ๐Ÿš— Upgrade Your Ride with Monroe Shocks & Struts 555010 Shock Absorber and Coil Spring Assembly

Robust hydraulic lock-out: Prevents over-extension of the suspension, top-out of the piston and averts damage to the seal assembly. They offer superior comfort for normal driving and deliver extra control when operating conditions get more demanding. Nitrogen gas-charged: For improved ride and handling, helps maintain tire to road contact by reducing aeration - on most applications. Loop welding technique: Resistance weld with additional 360-degree weld to provide up to 9,000 lbs (4,082 kg) tensile strength for maximum durability - when required. 1-3/8-inch (35 mm) Bore: Larger bore than most shocks to provide more efficient and consistent control. 2-inch or 2-3/8-inch (50.8 mm or 60.3 mm) reserve tube: More fluid for more consistent performance - when required. 5/8-inch (16 mm) diameter piston rod: Nitrocarburized design more environmentally friendly, maintaining chrome structural benefits, without affecting durability or use life of the rod. Sintered iron design allows for more precise piston dimensions, requiring no additional components for exceptional fit - on most applications. Multi-lip fluid seal designed for smooth performance, long life and reduced friction. Assist in maintaining ride height when up to 1,200 lbs of additional weight is loaded.

Requires 2 jacks to install on a van

Bought these for my 94 Four Winds Class C, I was able to install both in 2 hours. You will need 2 jacks: 1 to raise the frame and 1 to raise the shock after you screw in the top nut. Nothing complicated, just a little time. Those bumps made a huge difference when I took it for a test ride! No more rattling or wobbling when driving on the road. Rear sag has also been eliminated.

As I had to raise the bus quite high to make room for these

I fitted these to replace the original shock absorbers in the rear of my 1994 Tioga Class C car. They helped with the sideways wobble and sag that I experienced on bumps. They were a little tricky to install as I had to lift the bus quite high to get access to install them. Even then I had to raise them with a jack and a lever because they don't compress easily due to the built-in spring. Once they grow up.

Monroe Shock Upgrade

This is a cost effective way to upgrade your suspension for hauling a cargo or trailer. It also put yellow Monroe truck shocks up front so it has an inch more lift in the back when loading camping gear, and it now has very good control when it comes to big road dips. A hoist installation requires a heavy friend to hang a wheel or bottle jack between the axle and the frame or body to get the axle low enough for the bottom bolt to be inserted. Overall we are satisfied. The first photo is beforeโ€ฆ

Excellent product

I was nervous they were too stiff for my van. I have a 2007 e350 Quigley Extension and most of the reviews are from C class owners. I usually ride with a few hundred pounds behind me and a roof tent almost entirely behind the rear axle. The improvement in drivability was noticeable and not dramatic at all. It only raised the rear end by about an inch. Installation was a little tricky as the struts were permanently welded on to balance the jack blocks. After having to cut out the old shocks with

Fits, sets hub back to normal

Revane stated they do not fit my 1988 Ford E-350 but they fit and are after a new set easier to install springs. I had to use another jack to compress the coil over the shock a bit to get it in place even with the rear axle hanging, but I fucking charge the thing and now it's evenly charged and giving me input bit more ground clearance. I've been towing trailers on small inclines like driveways and store entrances/exits all the time. Not anymore, I've got an extra inch, the witch is moreโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • I have no particular complaints about it, everything is fine

Not a terrible job, you can do it, but it's not easy. Ford E350

Shock absorbers work, not sure if there is petrol in them. I think everything is in spring. This raises the rear maybe 3 inches. It helps, but still pretty noisy, I think the leaf springs are probably bad. Getting her in a vehicle, what a pain. My bolts on the old shock absorber are rusty. The only way is to cut it. The bottom of the shock had to be jacked up and it was not possible to remove the bolts from the bottom of the shock without cutting it off. The upper left shock bolt is 3 inchesโ€ฆ
