These paints seem good but I am new to water based oils and don't know how paints should behave. My bad rating is because some colors are mislabeled. The whiteness of titanium is light green and other colors are not true. I can mix colors to get the shades I want, but I can't do anything with white. My artist friends warned me not to buy Mont Marte - I should have listened!

Colors are all very beautiful, 22 tubes of one pigment. The brush is easy to clean with soap and water. For this price, this is excellent quality. The set is well suited for beginners and professionals. They are not of museum quality. I will buy another set to draw and sell my paintings. Only use water for these colors as a primer or glaze. I have been a professional artist for over 40 years. Trust me when I tell you these water based oil paints are the worst quality I have ever used. I expected them to perform as those mostly exaggerated reviews claim. They don't even come close. First I had to send back my first set, finally I got a complete color set. This set contains 2 bowls with 18 color tubes. Let's call them Tray A and Tray B for simplicity. Well I'm a watercolourist but I've used traditional oil paints in the past. I was interested in these water miscible oils and thought it would make the oils easier to use. The advantages are that they are non-toxic and you can use water as a medium. In the image I've attached, I just used water to dilute the colors. A few years ago I had to give up oil painting so I switched to acrylic which is equally unsatisfactory. As an alternative, I have opted for water-based oils. Wow. Why have I waited so long! While not exactly oil, the consistency of paint leaving the brush is soooo much better than acrylic - I have a lot more control with these paints. They also dry slower than acrylics, so they blend colors better on the canvas. The paint is a bit thicker than oil paint, so I recommend buying one of the mediums
