Ideal for heavy parts

Replaces standard U-joints with lubricated MOOG HD hinges. Well worth it, the Grease Zerk is on the end of the bearing cap so it's easy to service.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • -

They look solid. Normal installation.

I like Moog stuff and this is no exception. I replaced all 3 of my hinges with this model. Installation was typical and so far they are working well. Keep in mind that they come with flush fittings, so you'll need the right grease gun attachment.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Bad impression

Very poor quality of replacement parts

I don't think these are genuine MOOG universal joints. I replaced all 3 on my truck and 5 weeks later one blew up on the freeway. And no, this is NOT an installation error. Nothing like this has ever happened to genuine MOOG parts before. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • Absolute legend
Cons
  • Not as thick as other parts

Double checked for quality

A little messy. Out of service at 230 km. All 4 replaced by GMC Yukon. Only one has failed so far. I looked at the other three. You look good. U-Links were easy to install. Overall 3 stars. 2 stars for price, 5 stars for ease of installation. Nothing special, just like every other gimbal I've installed.

Pros
  • Durable finish
Cons
  • Almost ok

Worked for me at Universal Joints & Parts

I got these for my 2003 GMC Sierra Extended Cab 2WD 4.8L with two piece driveshaft. FYI - the OEM gimbals are held in place by an injected polymer material and were quite difficult to remove. I had to heat them with a propane torch. Be sure to check out some YouTube videos if you're unfamiliar. These fit just right.

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • thin

Great upgrade over the stock gimbal

I chose these when I needed to replace stock units that were showing their age. There are no issues and well worth the upgrade and peace of mind for the miles to come. The last thing anyone wants is to break down in bad weather or go off the beaten path. I usually buy stronger or better parts whenever possible. They were strong for over 5,000 miles.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Almost never

What happened to the quality of Moog?

Moog doesn't look like I remember. This cap ripped when pushed in. Bought a specialist and it went with no problems (well done, fully prepared before the first attempt to dent it as I've been doing for 30 years. This is the third Moog suspension I've bought of the four I've bought last year bought was disappointed.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Appearance
