Great price online compared to local auto parts store

These Moog 280 crosses fit my rear drive shaft on both ends and are a very good part. Ease of installation is directly related to your skill level and tools as I've installed quite a few kits in my life and it's pretty easy for me.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Only available in black

Used ridiculous flat oiler

This is a universal joint. It fits but definitely loses a star for using a flat type grease fitting which I had to order a custom new tip for my grease gun before I could reassemble it. Oilers have been versatile for over 100 years, why change now?

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • Slightly dented

I like the flat lubricator in the lid

Looks like a good strong U-connector. I like the low profile lubricator in the cap rather than at the bottom of the pivot where it would be difficult to access. The presence of an oiler at this point also makes the U-joint stronger. Installs like a normal connection (still the same headache)

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Requires an outlet

One of the best at a great price!

Used a universal joint press to remove it from the driveshaft that cannot be removed from the car. Knowing that these spares are some of the best on the market and finding them here, it's good to know that I don't have to think about replacing them again since the gooseneck allows them to be kept in perfect condition.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Out of style

Top quality item. Period

I keep seeing videos where people claim that Moog quality is somehow worse than it used to be. Well, show me another high performance gimbal that can be lubricated through the cap. This solves a real problem with the 2nd generation ladder design and I assume the Rangers do the same. They are very strong on all sides as the fittings used by others have no weak points. So buy again for another 150,000.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Not performing

Problems with the oiler

The cross itself seems high quality but I can't give 5 stars because the oiler didn't fit flush. I replaced two and they were both like this. The threads on it were just too wide to thread into the joint. To lubricate it I had to put a hole nozzle on the lubricator to force the grease into the joint and then lubricate the hole with silicone, essentially turning them into airtight U-joints. Disappointing.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Vulgarity

Interesting oiler

When I ordered these I didn't understand that the oiler is in the cap of one of the bearings. I had never seen this before and didn't like the idea. Also, I've never seen this type of oiler. I think this would require purchasing a different type of grease fitting, which would be a headache ___ since everything else I have has a standard grease fitting. So I sent them back and ordered the MOOG 369.

Pros
  • Stable test results
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model
