I selected these to add LED body lighting to my 2018 Ram 3500 Mega Cab. As others have said, 2017+ is pre-connected for them. The installation literally took 5 minutes. It took longer to start up my Windows PC and turn on the "sell code" and then physically mount and plug them in. Install them in the holes.2. Crawl under each back corner of the truck and find a severed wire. Remove the cover and connect it.3. Activate the "Truck body light function” in AlfaOBD. Did.

I wanted to add a headlight instead of a cheap aftermarket alternative. My 2018 2500 Bighorn came pre-wired with these lights but didn't turn them on from the factory. Because if this installation was very easy, less than 10 minutes. As most have said you will need to ask the dealer to flash the computer to power the light. My dealer took $75. I also changed the lighting in the third brake light to LED so that all the lighting in the bed is the same color. Very happy with the end result.

I was hoping they would work in my 17 2500 plug and play but that's not all. You need to route the wiring harness from the back of the bed into the engine bay, through the firewall grommet, and touch the wiring harness under the dash. After that, the function has to be activated in the on-board computer at the dealer or in my case via AlfaOBD. They work like a charm but I didn't realize it would be so difficult to install. Attention to those who think this is a 30 minute job!

The hardest part was finding the time to get the dealer to program the truck to receive the lights. I was a little worried these lights wouldn't be bright enough, but they surprised me. Installed these LED bed lights on my 2017 Ram. It was a quick and easy install. Took me about 10 minutes total. My bed has factory holes ready to accept light, as well as plugs on the bottom (behind the bumper on each side) to plug them in. The long wiring harness included in the kit was not needed. OEM quality is hard to beat. Instead of tying it to the fuse panel which would be very difficult to reach, plus my 2015 car and I don't think it's programmed for those lights, I tied it to a white/brown striped wire under the driver's door.
