Well a nice strong tool. But when I used it, the fit wasn't very good. The wrench was slightly larger than the filter housing I was trying to remove. I was able to remove the filter but the tool got stuck and I had to pull it out of the filter housing. The same applies when installing the filter back. The bottom line is that the key needs to be a bit firmer with less play to work well. Maybe the one I got is defective. So back.

No argument about the quality of this tool, it looks great and everything BUT it has nothing to do with working with a Volvo S60. I have no idea how/where the S60 and this instrument even started talking. Not even apples and pears, they're so far apart. So how do you rate it? Just the wrong tool for the job. But they require you to assign a rating so I had to leave 1 star. Service was great, tool looks great but doesn't work/doesn't fit the S60.

It was a good filter wrench but it just didn't fit when my "ghost son" was oiling his Volvo. He's since bought another one that works much better. It was just "good" and maybe great for some. It may well be that the "user error" is related to the problems that the "ghost son" had. Damn it, Jim, he's a musician, not a mechanic! That's why I don't give a bad grade, because the part itself is well made, but it just didn't suit us.

The filter wrench was used to replace the oil filter on a 2004 Volvo S60 that was advertised. The wrench was loose around the filter but still worked to loosen it. Unfortunately, the filter housing had so much play in the feather key that the grooves twisted against each other and the filter housing got stuck in the feather key. I had to (gently) knock the key out of the filter. After that, the wrench worked perfectly when reassembling to reinstall the oil filter.

It worked first for my 2005 Volvo S60 2.5T. I like the thickness of the walls and the solid construction. My only concern is that the fit should be about 0.5mm smaller in diameter. Just enough sludge will remain to adhere to the filter housing when loosened. This is because Volvo is notorious for these filters being difficult to remove. No matter how easy you put it on, after 3,000 miles it feels like it's been glued on. Part of the problem is that the cap needs to be changed every 5 oil…

Perfect fit. Not sure why this is stuck for others. After loosening the filter housing, simply tighten slightly and loosen the seat from the filter housing. You can then use a socket wrench or just your hands on the filter housing to loosen it completely. It's fairly common mechanical practice when you're loosening a nut, bolt, or thread to prevent what you're removing from getting stuck in the socket. Patience is the key. An amazing product that seems to last forever. This saved me a lot of time and made the oil change extremely easy and quick. I've been to a lot of dealerships and the only place that sold this part was Pepboys. All other stores only offered it online. And that although the part was cheap at only $5 from Pepboys. I've bought several filter cartridges in the past and this one is the best! I've only used it once so far, it fits well and seems very interesting given its wall thickness and attachment to a ratchet or 3/8 drive extension. A word of caution or bit of instruction though. The bushing is slightly loose on the plastic filter housing, causing the housing to get stuck in the bushing. What I have done to counteract this is leave the housing in place while I change the filter cartridge and o-rings…
