Gave me all 4 fan speeds again

2002 Ford Explorer XLT 2WD V6 My fan motor only ran at low to full power. He's lost two more speeds over the years. I knew it wasn't the fan, I suspected it was the fan switch itself, but after watching a video of them being replaced I concluded it was probably the culprit. This OEM part fixed my problem and was a lot cheaper from Revain than from a Ford dealer (almost half the price). ). If your 4-speed fan is still working but only on some settings, this could be your problem as well. YouTube

Pros
  • Lots of positive vibes
Cons
  • Requires outlet

Ford Motorcraft part fits my 2002 Explorer, fan speeds restored.

Matches my 2002 Conductor. Came sealed in a bag of Ford Motorcraft parts. The fan worked only at low and high frequencies. This fan motor speed resistor has been replaced and now works with all settings. The resistor on my truck was under the glove box which was attached to the fan housing. I didn't have to remove anything to get to it, but getting to the two screws was tricky. I used a 1/4" ratchet with a 5/16 socket for the top bolt and a ratchet for the bottom bolt (the bolt is partially…

Great fit and easy assembly!

My 2004 Ford Expedition NBX heater only worked in the front at top speed. I read something and thought this would solve the problem. Went like clockwork! I had to lie down in an awkward position, but given my small stature, it wasn't too bad. There is no need to move the wiring harness or other parts as the part under the passenger side dash was facing me. The two bolts were relatively easy to remove and then loosen and insert a new one. Made in less than 10 minutes. It worked great. I have all

NOT SUITABLE: Fan

The replacement part arrived on time. However, this was the wrong part. This YH1716 has a link bracket that is twice the size of the part in the car. The correct part is probably YH27. Not sure at all. Subsequent searches revealed this part to fit the 2007 Explorer Eddie Bauer as well as the YH1716. How do buyers and sellers know about this when they order online? I hope the seller will reply to my email and exchange this for the correct part. The part sits in a very narrow place behind the…

Worked great! Saved me $$!

Runs like clockwork. Very easy to install. 10 minutes and all fan speeds are there again. There is a helpful video on youtube. On my 2003 expedition, I pulled out the glove box (slightly) and saw the drag on the left side. Separated it - it was a bit tight, had to press down center at bottom and roll it up. (Head #8 is used to unscrew the resistor - 2 screws). I installed a new resistor, tightened the bolts, reconnected the wiring harness and latched the glove box and I'm back in business. Your

Ford dealer sucks! Used and defective part is sold as new.

This will repair the fan speed controller on a faulty Ford fan resistor. My Ford dealer was notorious for putting faulty parts on my car. I found that mine was replaced under warranty with a used and burned out unit. The electrical resistance board burned out for the second and third speeds. This was found on a replacement part and in a lawsuit against my local Ford dealer. Everything they sold me as new appears to have actually been used, including a brand new tire that has actually been used!

Pros
  • Certified.
Cons
  • Cable is shorter than other options.

However, it did not fit the 2007 Explorer

Although Revain claimed it would fit the 2007 Ford Explorer, it didn't actually fit my dad's 2007 Ford Explorer. Unfortunately I discovered this two months after sending it to him and 20 minutes folding in the passenger footwell. It's a tight fit just to remove the connector, no less to remove the screws with the tools I had at his house. Unfortunately the last step was to connect the connector and the connector on the fan motor resistor was too big for the connector from the wire harness. If…
