Great PFDs! on clothing

Best life jacket for the price! You hardly notice you're wearing them. Not restrictive in any way and like a small zip pocket. My wife agrees they are comfortable and good looking. Beats the old Mae West style but not Mae West.

Pros
  • Whistle attached
Cons
  • Everything OK

I love this life jacket! SIZE CHART in my comment!

I love this lifejacket! My husband has Orange and I have Aqua. We have traveled to many places trying on different vests and have found this brand to be our favorite. We bought from Revain because they had the best price. Highly recommended. There was a size chart on the label so if you need to know the details - XS/S (28"-36") M/L (36"-44") X/2XL (44" - 56" )Update: It's 2020 and these vests are still like new and we use them a lot for kayaking! No dry rot or fabric breaks. Easy to clean and…

but was so happy with how he felt that he had to release some.

This review is based solely on fit and style, NOT function. Haven't used it in a kayak yet but was so happy with how it feels that I had to post a few photos. I loved this life jacket from the moment I took it out of the box. All aspects of the vest are adjustable and in minutes it's so comfortable! This life jacket fits my body perfectly and is so damn simple, I love it! Mesh on the lower back provides ventilation on hot summer days. My favorite is the front zip pocket with an orange whistle…

Good inexpensive life jacket Type 3

Appears to be a decent inexpensive life jacket. I probably go whitewater maybe 10 days a year so I don't really need a fancy $100 PFD. This vest has some great features like a knife whip and a low profile design making it a great buy. No real complaints except that the mesh on the back looks a bit gaudy and I'm not 100% sure it will hold up. It's also slightly larger than more expensive vests, but you can't beat the price at $40. In terms of sizing, I went with XS/S based on previous reviewers.

Experience with size

For those who are wondering what size to buy I decided to share my experience. I'm a female, 5'6", just under 160 lbs, 40" bust, 34" ribs. I ordered size M/L using the attached size chart. as much as I could and still felt I could nearly pulled my vest over my head. There was also more forearms than I expected. I then ordered the Onyx Outdoor Movevent Torsion Vest (which uses the same size chart) in XS/SM for comparison and it fits much better. It includes a clip closure at the lower front of…

Consider downsizing if you are at the limit.

You do not wear a life jacket if you can swim; You will wear a life jacket if you cannot, and the life jacket must not move without you if someone is lifting you by the shoulder straps. I have a 36" bust and a 29" waist and originally ordered a M/L as I was a little on the fringe of sizing. I thought it would be better to have a larger size if I gain weight or get pregnant in the next few years. The M/L was much larger than I expected and when my husband tried to pick me up by the straps the…

Not the best choice for women

This article came about when I was looking for women's rowing life jackets. I ordered ML as indicated in the size chart. (For the record, I'm a women's size 12 and I'm 5'6"). My measurements are listed 4-5 inches larger than the smaller size. I strongly advise women (particularly busty ones) against following this guide. Pull the bottom straps fully on and the vest could still be pulled up a good bit, although without force it may not be fully removed.. I have reservations about wearing this as

Great life jacket for kayakers!

I've tried many different life jackets but this is by far the best for kayaking. I love the mesh part on the back, you don't even notice you're wearing a vest while paddling. Other vests feel bulky and push you forward when seated. it doesn't have it! The hand holes are so large that nothing gets in the way when paddling. and nothing rubs against the armpits. The vest comes with a whistle attached to a thin cord inside the pocket so you can either leave it there or take it out and attach it to…

I love this life jacket!

Love the fit and style of this life jacket! I'm a 5ft 4in female weighing 120lbs and size XS/S fits perfectly. As stated on the jacket, this is a Type 3 buoyancy device and works best when you are awake or swimming on your back. If you are unconscious and go face down in the water, you will drown. I don't do white water rafting so this jacket is perfect for my activity level. Basically got this to follow local laws that kayaking requires wearing protective gear even in calm water. It is very…

Size: XS/S fits medium women

I came here to discuss the measurements of this vest. I read the reviews and think this is a quality vest. Personally, it seems. The zipper is thick and strong and the straps are ballistic nylon. I chose this vest but struggled with the choice of size for a long time: XS/S or M/L. The size chart tells me to choose M/L, but if you're a double unisex size like this, it usually means it's a men's L. I usually wear a women's M. I finally realized that nobody complains about it being small, but a…
