🐠 Enhancing Your Aquarium Experience: Mr. Aqua Aquarium Placement Mat, 18-Inch Review

I got this for an 8 gallon tank and cut it to size leaving a few inches around. It works great and protects my stand from spills.

Too small and too thin for my aquarium. It tried to bend and wrinkle when I put the tank back in place. Basically it's just thinner Foam and not worth $20.

Does everything it says on the tin. Compensates for small bumps on the bottom of the tank. However, in 18x18 it is either slightly larger or my 18x18 tank is slightly smaller than stated. However, it is less than a quarter inch taller than the tank.

I had never used a mat before and didn't know what to expect. This had to be placed on a table which I knew wasn't exactly level for a smaller aquarium. The carpet made it much easier to level the fish tank and save on the countertop (although it's glass :-) )

I bought this mat for my cube aquarium and I like its material and thickness. However, my rug that I received was not cut accurately. 2 sides of the rug were cut slightly crooked. This became clear when I placed my cube aquarium on a base and the base was not flush with the edges of the aquarium. Not a big deal, just not a 5 star product.

I once cut out styrofoam insulation boards that fit under the aquarium. They held up well but looked a bit cheesy. They were a necessary evil when it came to using subpar aquarium stands. This product has the benefits of those foam sheets but looks a lot better and appears to be a lot more durable. I would use them in all small aquariums, especially ones that are small enough not to create stands for them (bookshelf/table sized aquariums). I feel this would greatly extend the life of the…
