Terrible landing - starters and alternators

For me and my 454cid motorhome, this was more than a bolt. It took a lot of cutting and sanding, really wasn't worth the money and our time to put it on

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • Low repairability

Love it. You have a 1981 Chevy Corvette

Love it. On a 1981 Chevy Corvette, the starter motor overheated and the car would not start until it had cooled. After installing the heat shield, the problem went away.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • Compatibility

I don't know what to say

looked nice but the universal design doesn't work that well, I think it can trap heat instead of shielding it because in the new Starter Pro Rebuilt it was heated and was NOT ON UNTIL THE VEHICLE WAS STOPPED FOR ABOUT 40+ MINUTES,

Pros
  • Strong workmanship
Cons
  • The disappearance

Don't waste your money and time

Fits well but it didn't really help stop the starter overheating problem. Don't waste your time and money buying one of these. Instead, replace the starter with a high-torque, mini-gear starter. I found a replacement starter for $85 and never had a warm up problem again. This heat shield is more of a band-aid.

Pros
  • Hands free operation
Cons
  • Some flaws

Win the starting run!

Mr. Gasket is known for making excellent products and I have used a variety of their products for over 20 years. This product is designed to protect your starter motor from exhaust fumes and engine heat to prevent premature starter wear and help you start your car faster and harder. It is very easy to install and quick to assemble. Some apps can get very cramped as there isn't much space left, but they should fit. This saves you having to change the starter regularly. Performance driven…

Pros
  • Nice packaging
Cons
  • I won't say anything

***NOT FIT "Upgraded " Chevy 95 5.7 Starter. ***

DOES NOT FIT New/Refurbished 1995 Chevy Tahoe 5.7 Starter (e.g. ACDelco 337-1022 Professional Starter). The updated starter is smaller in relation to this shield, presumably due to technological advances since 1995 (although the connection between the starter and flywheel appears to be exactly the same as the ORIGINAL starter). I foolishly assumed that this shield would fit the UPDATED launchers we are currently using for this application. It would be easy to install if it fitted. For the…

Pros
  • Easy to read dashboard
Cons
  • Other interesting options available.

Not as pictured, not working

The product received is not as pictured. Save some money and buy a cheaper version of a competitor. I decided on the Mr. Seal because it looked better than the competing manufacturers' models. For example, I said "Mr. Seal” engraved on the device as shown. The one received does not have such a logo, the double layers of metal plate do not fit along the trailing edge, and there are many scratches on the outer surface. With equal success, one could buy a cheaper option. Update: 8/19/18 Heat…

Pros
  • Easy setup
Cons
  • Almost OK
