Every engine deserves a dipstick

Ideal for Audi 3.0 TFSI engine. Ideal for use when using an oil extractor and filling the engine with oil, checking the oil level with the electronic level gauge in the vehicle's MMI (consistent within 1/4 quart). Great prices compared to many other providers.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Upgradeable

Ideal! Audi is not smart because of the missing dipstick!

I love that I now have a dipstick instead of all the steps Audi takes to check the oil with their no dipstick style they offer such a poor design. I want to see the color of the oil and the height of the oil with my own eyes. Thank you for offering this wonderful product!

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • There are nuances

Not permanent

After reading other reviews about the lower plastic part breaking and possible engine damage, I'm a little wary of installing it permanently, it looks a bit fragile. I want the bottom part to be all metal. However, he should check the oil level from time to time to keep an eye on the electronic lever sensor.

Pros
  • 1 year trial
Cons
  • Tape

Great "replacement " for an item that should have been in the car

Great product, great price. I'm not sure why Audi didn't add a dipstick to the $60,000 car, especially since my MMI sometimes refuses to read and doesn't give volumetrically accurate readings, but oh well. This product helps if you're into anal sex or just want to check up on your oil (which you absolutely should). Personally I don't leave it on all the time as I'm not sure it will fit perfectly so I leave the Audi "plug" in and usually keep it in the garage or trunk.

Pros
  • Performs decently
Cons
  • All right

Fits perfectly. 2010 Audi Q5 3.2

My 2010 Audi Q5 came from the factory with a dipstick tube but its 3.2 liter V6 didn't have a dipstick. Just a plug at the top of the pipe. When my oil gauge went south like this I replaced the gauge but also bought this dipstick. Regardless of what the sensor does or doesn't do, I now have a manual way to accurately check the oil level. That works great. Call me old fashioned, but being able to see my oil level is correct instead of trusting a gauge and getting a reading on my dash is worth…

Pros
  • GOLS Certificate
Cons
  • Bad Impression

Why are cars built WITHOUT an oil dipstick?!

Bought an Audi Q5. When my husband did a routine engine check, he found that the car had no oil dipstick! He asked the technician how anyone should test the oil themselves? He said these engines need a computer to tell you when fluid is needed or to get them to the dealer. Oh no! My husband is "old school" and doesn't rely on a computer to test engine fluids. I was able to buy this dipstick and now it's my job to make sure I check the oil in the engine and the color every time I fill up the gas

Pros
  • An absolute legend
Cons
  • Nothing here
