This appeared to be a decent quality valve (although made in China), trademarked, UL listed etc. However, the valve I received had quality issues: 1) Upstream The 3/4" FIP fitting was leaking on the threads. 2) The downstream FIP threads were drilled off center to the fitting. 3) The small packing nut was dented before the locking handle was installed. 4) The hex head screws on both ends of the Castings are too big for a 15/16" wrench but too small for a 1" wrench (which just rounds them up).

I have assembled several outdoor showers wherever I have a hose bib around my house in Hawaii. So salt water can be easily washed off after a beach holiday. For the rest of the shower I used PVC pipe but invested in a heavy duty valve. Much cheaper than the local hardware store or the big orange one, especially in Hawaii. If children and guests wash outside without problems, there will be less sand and salt in my house.

Finally I did it, I learned how to solder on YouTube. I installed this in-line check valve next to a horizontal check valve and between two fittings. All threaded for easy disassembly. Three leaks were later repaired with pipe thread additive wrapped in Teflon tape and mostly tightened. The heat traps didn't work, took them out and used the check valves.
