It was for grandchildren so it sat unopened in the closet for some time. When we first put batteries in and it didn't work we thought the batteries were old (albeit unused and not expired) because when we replaced them with new ones we quickly bought them and they worked. However, after a few days we turned it on and nothing happened. This leads us to believe that there is a short circuit somewhere.

I gave this to my son for his first birthday. Most of the time he liked it, but the tremors were sporadic and stopped too often. Not sure if it was supposed to stop shaking or if it was a bad battery terminal/connection or something. For that reason it turned out to be a gift and I was a little embarrassed at my cheap gift. Oops. Every time the baby started laughing because of the shaking, it stopped! booooo.

I recently bought this gift for my nephew. In general, the toy and features are as expected and advertised, but the battery compartment is very small and difficult to open. The piece of plastic covering the screw was so deep and narrow that it could only be accessed with a very small screwdriver. But even with a tiny screwdriver (one for eyeglasses and computer parts), the screw was so tight it wouldn't turn and loosened in the process.
