does what it says Tailored to my needs

My soundbar had limited audio connectivity. The optical audio was already in use so I needed something else to connect it to the TV. I connected the soundbar's coaxial port to the TV's optical port and it worked. The sound quality is good but sometimes disappears. although maybe it's my attitude. If you need this then buy it. needs

It works very well for such a cheap device

The thing works very well for such a cheap device. I have problems from time to time. Sometimes when I switch to a source there is no sound, but when I switch sources and switch back it works. This can be related to the TV, receiver, source device or this product. I can't isolate it enough to be sure. I would buy it again because it delayed my switch to a 4k receiver for the time being.

Works best in video converters

Why Revain asked me to rate the volume control and picture quality for it remains a mystery - neither is true. My TV's only audio output is optical, the only cable I have from the TV to the AV receiver is coaxial. I originally hooked up an old Radio Shack box I had with exactly the same functionality as this one. But there were occasional drops of tone that became frequent at times.
