I used a strap that I attached to a harness I already had to keep my dog from crossing the barrier into the front seat could jump. There were no instructions in my package so I wasn't sure if I should use one or both.

After purchasing another brand that didn't work with my RDX. I bought it. I saw a review that said they were working on someone else's Acura MDX. Well, they worked for me too! I love them and so do my boys! Ideal to buy as a set with NAC&ZAC hammock and door covers.

I haven't buckled my dog up yet, but it's worth just putting the passenger seat belt on so the alarm doesn't go off if the grocery bag and wallet fit on the seat. As far as I can tell, it should work with a dog.
