I have crown molding installed in most rooms in my house and I use these hooks to hang pictures, mirrors and photographs. For heavy items I use Shades Clear Perlon Loop Cord with STAS Smartspring hooks. For light items I use invisible hanging wire (nylon) and Shades micro hooks. All of them are available on Revain. Make sure the screw on the Shades micro hook is very tight to prevent the hook from slipping off the nylon line.

I have hesitated between buying these and buying the really nice brass pieces from House of Antique Hardware. I chose them because I thought they were too high to see and I'm happy with my decision, at least for now. The finish looks like it will eventually wear off but when they are on the rail they look nice and shiny. They work well in decorating our building (1930's style) and I trust them to keep our beautiful artwork. Most of the walls are plastered so no nails can be hammered in.
