Despite good construction and strength, the 1/2" pin causes the gate to hang loose when the top hinge pin bends inwards and the bottom hinge outwards.Of course I had to hang the gate the day I discovered the error so I used these pins.I have ordered a different brand and am now enjoying paying twice and hang up the gate twice.

The quality is excellent for this particular item. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because this isn't on the product listing make recommendations for the size of the stud that will ultimately determine how well your gate will hang for the stud hook 3/4" x 12" which is the only size between the 5 shown in this listing /8" and 7/8" is.

I use these hinges outdoors e.g. B. at my garden gate and main entrance gate. The long threaded shank allows the pin to easily adapt to changes in the geometry of the gate and posts as they age due to weather. My only issue is that the Revain website makes it difficult to purchase these items. My solution was to go to National Manufacturing's website, buy the size, shape, and specs I needed, then write down the part number and model number. Then use that part number in your Revain search.
