Solid brass, highly polished. I am happy to find "old school" solid brass as it is much stronger than the "cheap" cast and plated brass. Exactly what I wanted - thanks!

They look good - not flashy, just plain and solid. I hate tasteless things; they look more expensive than cheap. I bought two to fit matching doors and they look practical and solid. I'm not a big fan of things hanging on doors, but I wanted them to be temporary (like a guest coat or a place in the dry cleaner's if I just walked through the door). I plan on doing that. I think they could hold up a few pounds if installed on solid doors (like mine).

My granddaughter lives with me and her backpack used for school and summer camp often ends up on the floor or on the kitchen table which is annoying.
