Reliable in its safety

Nothing to say about bent pieces of metal with holes. They work for what they are meant for. Security bars in my Fallout Shelter/SHTF. Nobody and nothing can get in there. Survival depends on proper planning. And water cannot live without water.

Pros
  • Made of hot-rolled steel
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Use 2X4 in the swing door, works great!

Simple, good price, gets the job done. I use it next to the garage door. Fun Fact: The 2X4 you use to get through the two brackets is called the Katybar, as in "Katy shut the door!" I believe it harks back to the King of Scotland. A device was sold under this name, a steel rod that ran at an angle of approximately 45Β° from a brass strip on the door to a brass plate on the floor.

Pros
  • Designed for use with 2 x 4 wood
Cons
  • Crumpled

These bad boys are a perfect match for me

These bad boys are a perfect match for me. I built a 20 foot wide mahogany double gate for the entrance to my backyard home and although I built it quite "thick", length, wind and reality really can't find "huge", the pipe studs meant that he was a little weak in the middle. I've really struggled to find good hardware rated for a pair of 500+ pound swing gates. To protect the center from wind etc I figured just a 2x4 crossbar on the inside would be the way to go. - I still don't need (or want)…

Pros
  • 2 pack
Cons
  • old
