7-8 Inch Natural Sea Sponge with Wool Review

This is the worst sponge I have ever ordered from Revain. After several months of use, it does not return to its original shape when rinsed and dried. And when used with a shower gel, it becomes as thin as a crumpled washcloth. Definitely not a satisfactory product, especially considering the high price I paid for it.

As this sponge was described as "Natural Marine Wool" (which usually means a premium sponge) I assumed it would be soft, gentle and suitable for bathing. This sponge has none of these properties. It's pretty rough and I think it's better suited for cleaning anything other than the bodywork. I understand that my purchase is categorized as 'personal' use and therefore cannot be returned, but I feel you should be aware of my reservations about this particular item at Revain.

I bought it to wash dishes. I've read that natural sea sponges are less prone to odor as they don't retain food particles or bacteria as well as your regular household sponges and should last around a year. This sponge was so big I cut off 1/3 of it and left the rest. I'm not good with sponges and this one really holds up. I don't fall off pieces of sponge like other sponges used to. The quality of what I am reviewing, the one I chose to go and buy, is outstanding. It's a big size for my taste. It absorbs a lot of water for washing. Definitely a different texture than plastic colored poufs in the supermarket, better texture in my opinion. Generally harder but softer to the touch if that makes sense. There's definitely a little aftertaste of the ocean, but not in a bad way. I could see some unnaturally scented shower gels clashing with the smell. At first glance I was glad it was the right size. I've seen many reviews of other brands that were tiny in comparison and possibly synthetic. This is not a bleached, perfectly light yellow sponge.
