🪚 Neiko 10235B Silver Deming Industrial Drill Bit Review

Needed for a job to drill out a dumb drain valve on a water heater to replace with a high flow ball valve. This is 1/64" below what is actually listed for 3/4" female NPT but was about 1/4 the price of the size listed and did the job. So I didn't really "emphasize" that point, but it's edgy and was the right solution for my needs. Based on that, however, I would buy Neiko for more demanding needs as well.

Maybe I'm an idiot. I thought I read in the description that it is a multi-purpose drill (wood, steel, aluminum, etc.). But this poor thing just had the worst of it, trying to drill through steel. I started with the pilot hole then worked harder and harder until I got to this bad boy but no. Once I got there this piece just went round and round and round but hardly left any marks on the steel. Unfortunately I had to leave my project unfinished.

I bought this drill for a job to cut a hole in my old truck's fairing, just a 13/16 inch hole in plain old auto sheetmetal. For starters, what a terrible job this drill has done: unstable, difficult to control or stable, literally tearing metal against the drill. A hole at last, but with jagged edges and very uneven surfaces at the top and bottom. I would return it but the racquet is no better.
