Dead After 24 Months

Comcast spent most of the day today trying to figure out why our internet suddenly went down. After swapping all the coax cables back to the house, they found that the problem was with the modem. I logged into the modem's admin panel and although the wired connection was good, there was no internet signal coming through the ethernet cable to my laptop. Comcast loaned me a modem and our internet is working again. Good luck finding warranty information on the Netgear website. I've never had a…

Works great on Comcast/Infinity.

A bit pricey but should last for the next 5 years or so! Replaced the outdated "Zoom" when it reached EOL via Comcast/Infinity. I had no trouble registering it online via "CHAT" on Comcast. MAC and S/N sent and after about 10 minutes we had a connection. Due to the bandwidth of Negear routers, we support a separate modem and WiFi router (also Netgear). We also connect to the router via CAT5. Make sure you turn off your router before contacting them. Once you see all 4 top lights are solid…

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Some bugs

Well I've had the little one for almost a year now and I have to say I can't recommend it. It would have been completely different 4 or 5 months ago, because everything started out great. When I first got it, it was easy to set up for Comcast and I noticed an immediate increase in speed over the old standard modem. Everything was great for many months, but then I started having disconnecting (actually freezing) issues. At first I thought it was a crappy Comcast, but I soon realized it was a…

It took me a year and 4 months

I have the best internet in the spectrum up to 400 Mbit/s and get about 15-50 downloads. I bought this modem and also got my own router so I wasn't tied to their refurbished junk that I had to replace every few months. This modem was working fine about a month ago and then my internet stopped working about every hour. Then it got worse every 3 minutes and it was so uncomfortable. I replaced it with the spectrum modem I had before and my internet was back to normal. However, when I received this

Netgear CM700 = great cable modem

I've read many reviews about the Netgear CM700 and possible problems with the Intel Puma 6 chipset. Many online reviews of this cable modem point to problems with dropouts and jitter. I called Netgear Tech Support and was told these issues were fixed with firmware updates and are no longer valid. I bought a Netgear CM700 cable modem and I can tell you it's great. Don't be put off by online reviews that are 1-2 years old. After doing some research, I found that one of the biggest issues with…

  • This is awesome
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

For about a year and a half he has served me regularly with full speed and decent reliability. After that, the connection began to disappear a couple of times a week. About a month later, the connection dropped several times a day. As I work online from home this was not acceptable. For some reason it kept dropping out during a conference call or in the middle of an important long-distance connection. Comcast/Xfinity sent out a tech as they didn't see any problems with the lines (although I…

After disconnecting from the internet up to 5+ times a day, it saved

My friend and I bought this in combination with a 'Netgear (R7000-100PAS) Nighthawk AC1900 Dual Band WiFi Router'. We've been using it for a few weeks now and I have to say we're BOTH happy holidaymakers! My boyfriend and I are both video gamers, not much of it, but enough when we play for a few hours at night on our computers or on our separate X-Boxes. We had a modem provided to us by our ISP (Timewarner/Spectrum) which we have been using for at least two years but have had problems with the…
