Easy install but proprietary software crashes with Vista

Details: Another decent offering from Netgear. I bought it as an upgrade for my mother's computer. It is digitally illiterate, so ease of use was a key factor in choosing this device. It is used on a Windows Vista machine. Proprietary wireless management software conflicted with Vista's wireless management software, resulting in poor connection quality due to frequent signal dropouts and the need for constant manual reconnection. After reinstalling the Netgear software and reconfiguring itโ€ฆ

Issues: Computer Components

I purchased this network adapter specifically to receive a Wireless-N signal from a nearby Netgear Wireless-N router. the same brand as the router, it would be compatible with it without any problems. This turned out not to be the case. Pros: It has a great antenna, at least it looks like it should be good. Cons: Difficult to install. It's not receiving a wireless-n signal from a nearby Netgear wireless-n router. I downloaded the driver from the Netgear website along with detailed installationโ€ฆ

Great Card, Bad Vista Installer Software

Now that the card is working properly, it's great. With my 22Mbps broadband service, the performance is impressive compared to the Netgear G Wireless card it replaced. With this card I increased my download speed from 12 Mbit/s to over 22 Mbit/s. I also use a Netgear N wireless router. The installation software and instructions that came with it are not suitable for installing Vista. I had to use trial and error and reinstall the card 3 times before it finally worked. Maybe downloading theโ€ฆ

Great Hardware, Lousy Instructions

This adapter works great once installed. After following the instructions in the email and wasting 90 minutes of my life, I had to call Netgear customer service who couldn't get my adapter to work. Finally they told me to return it. Before I did that, I decided to try again. I first restored my Vista OS to a 3-4 month old restore point. Then make sure that the driver or part of it has been uninstalled (using "Add Uninstall Software" in the Control Panel). Then I reinstall the adapter driverโ€ฆ
