Great Hardware, Lousy Instructions

This adapter works great once installed. After following the instructions in the email and wasting 90 minutes of my life, I had to call Netgear customer service who couldn't get my adapter to work. Finally they told me to return it. Before I did that, I decided to try again. I first restored my Vista OS to a 3-4 month old restore point. Then make sure that the driver or part of it has been uninstalled (using "Add Uninstall Software" in the Control Panel). Then I reinstall the adapter driver, but this time I waited about 15 minutes before shutting down the computer to manually install the adapter into the PCI slot. I then turned on my computer and waited another 10-15 minutes before I saw a window open asking me various setup questions to complete my adapter installation and then HOUR! Finally my adapter works. I think my initial problems were due to poorly written instructions from Netgear. It prompts you to run the driver setup file and then wait for a window that prompts you to shut down your computer and manually install the adapter. The problem is that when you get this window, the driver is not yet fully installed. You may see a small pop-up message (which cannot be closed) below the aforementioned window asking you to install the driver. YOU MUST WAIT FOR THIS MESSAGE TO DISAPPEAR BEFORE TURNING OFF THE COMPUTER. AND VOILA! Just be patient and the rest will find it.
