This boot lasted 6 months!

Boots purchased in December 2021 are still in excellent condition except the (non-replaceable) soles are worn and peeling. $130 boots should last at least a year!

Pros
  • Shoes are a great investment in your comfort and foot health, especially if you spend a lot of time walking or standing.
Cons
  • Not suitable for people who require custom orthopedic insoles.

No more New Balance sneakers!

I don't know what happened to New Balance but their shoes are getting worse and worse. The fit does not correspond to the stated size. I had to send back a pair of shoes that were too tight. The toe of 3 pairs of safety shoes is too narrow and will cause blisters. Never again New Balance!

Pros
  • Great boots. But the size is a bit off. Order one size up and one width wider.
Cons
  • Too expensive for hiking shoes

hatch quality control.

Have been buying New Balance for over a decade, have been buying at least one pair of this model for years, several pairs a year lately. Recently, the staining of materials does not last long, and the waterproofing of shoes does not last that long. or. wear them in winter, fall hunting, gardening, anything but still for very far and goretex is the only wild in town. but the quality goes down, but the price doesn't.

Pros
  • ordered for my brother who needed a good walking shoe and it fit him perfectly. Thanks.
Cons
  • Shoes can be too stiff for some hikers who prefer more flexibility.

Too small ....! the best in my rating

If you order a width of 11.5 you will receive a pair that looked and felt like a figure eight even though the tag said 11.5. Couldn't even fit the front of my foot in the boot

Pros
  • The shoes have a durable outsole, which makes them suitable for various terrains and outdoor activities.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for people with sensitive skin who require hypoallergenic materials.

Great replacement

This is a replacement for my old New Balance 975 that lasted 9 years. The number is higher, so this is a newer version and perfect. Everything seems the same, but I ordered the "narrow" version. I never knew there was a slim version until I saw it at Walmart.

Pros
  • Shoes are easy to clean and maintain, so they look good for a long time.
Cons
  • Not suitable for people who require additional arch support.

Great for narrow feet.

One of the few shoe manufacturers that sells narrow shoes which are very difficult to find. Without Walmart my legs would hurt.

Pros
  • Comfortable
Cons
  • Not stylish enough for everyday use.

My husband loves them so much this is his second pair!

The second pair was bought as a regular hiking shoe but specifically for the upcoming trip which will involve outdoor activities. My husband loves them and says they are one of the best shoes he has ever worn...and he is picky. 😊

Pros
  • N / A
Cons
  • May be too tight for some people

I have relatively smaller feet, 8.5 male. I ordered 8.5W which according to the tongue insert is 2e wide. In the toe area it is rather narrow. 9W or maybe 8.5 XW would be better. Apart from the low mileage, they are excellent.

Pros
  • casual wear.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for all walking surfaces

Not normal size 9.5D

THIS NEW BALANCE SHOE IS DIFFERENT FROM 9.5D - MORE THAN THE FASTEST SHOE YOU GET, EVEN THE FOOT COULD NOT GO IN IT AND THIS IS THE NORMAL SIZE 9.5D ORDERED WHICH HAS BEEN WORN MORE THAN 10 YEARS. RETURN HAPPENED!

Pros
  • The shoes are very comfortable.
Cons
  • Small arch support

These are very good shoes, but they didn't fit me.

The service was very good but I'm sending the shoes back as they don't fit me. Thanks anyway. Depasse@r.depasse@ma.rr.com

Pros
  • The lace-up closure ensures a secure fit that's easy to adjust to suit your preferences.
Cons
  • Shoes can be uncomfortable for people who like a lot of room in the toe box.

Practical: my rating

They fit well and are very comfortable to wear. My only complaints are that the tongue could have been longer (an issue with the new New Balance shoes I found) and the hooks used instead of eyelets for the top two lacing positions.

Pros
  • I wear them, the sock is tight.
Cons
  • May not be slip resistant enough under certain conditions

The size is right - my new rating

The size is right, I have a hard time fitting. My size is 10V. I would classify this as a hiking shoe or light backpacker. Not for serious hiking. I live in the Sierra Nevada where granite rocks are common. I would buy this again.

Pros
  • I always buy the same shoes. It never changes
Cons
  • Brown color can not be combined with every outfit.

Pretty great shoes, the best in my rating

New Balance shoes are generally comfortable, but I always feel like they need some extra support, so I pull out the insoles that come with the kit and replace them with Super Foot insoles. Once this is done they are perfect.

Pros
  • Light but strong but does not provide enough ankle support when moving over rocky areas.
Cons
  • Not robust enough for continuous use

Good walking shoes in my review

I bought these boots for moose hunting in Idaho in September. I replaced the insoles with custom insoles to ensure good arch support. I buy a lot of New Balance shoes because of the EEE foot width and they have a good selection of wide shoes. They are very comfortable.

Pros
  • I think they will work great.
Cons
  • When I first put these shoes on, the insole fell out when I took the shoes off. Not as good as the previous pair I had.

Humans aren't just sophisticated - they're so small.

They look good and I love the lacing system. I just can't wear them. In the photo you can see the 990 V5 on my left foot and this 978 V1 on my right. Both 10 B's, fresh out of the box from Walmart. My heels stand on the wall for a close comparison. As you can see they are MUCH shorter, probably less than 9.5 stars for what they could be. 1 star for all the good things he does for me. I'm generous and take 3.

Pros
  • The shoes have a breathable upper that allows airflow to keep your feet cool and comfortable.
Cons
  • May not be suitable for all weather conditions

Excellent support in my review.

I switched between them and 1450s depending on what was available in my size. I've been wearing this pair on my daily 5 mile walk by the river at 5am for about a week now. Support and comfort are excellent. As always, I am satisfied with these shoes.

Pros
  • These boots have a deep toe like the NB 1400. Suitable for wide feet with hammer toes and boning.
Cons
  • Didn't fit, had to send it back. I was very disappointed.

Everything you expect from New Balance shoes. Cheaper than in the store and in the warehouse. I can never find that 10 wide shoe in brick and mortar. To order it in the store, you will have to wait several months.

Pros
  • The shoe is suitable for people with different foot shapes and sizes, making it a versatile choice.
Cons
  • Shoes may not be suitable for people who prefer a minimalist design.

These boots are comfortable, but they just don't last

I now have my third pair of these boots in less than 3 years. I change them all the time because the soles keep coming off the midsole. The only reason I keep buying them is because they fit well. I wear an 8.5 4E and it's hard to find a shoe that wide. I hike several times a week and pack a lot, so I need good boots that fit well. But now that my third pair isn't working as well as the first two, I'll be looking at another brand.

Pros
  • Good and durable but you need one size bigger than usual
Cons
  • These were a bit small. Normally, New Balances aren't that tight in large widths, but these were.

Revainrating 2 out of 5

The toe is not wide enough for me

Based on the description, you would think the 13 X-Wide has enough toe room for 12 1/2 feet. No. Even after wearing them on shoe trees for several months, they are still too tight on the toes. Update: I'm still trying to stretch these things enough so they don't pinch my toes. "wide forefoot" my ass! Check out the picture if you don't believe me.

Pros
  • The shoes are made by a famous brand known for their quality and craftsmanship.
Cons
  • Can be too difficult to clean and maintain

Convenient support

This is the second pair I have. I walk a lot but need good arch and ankle support. These shoes offer it. My only complaint is that they are hard to come by. My size has been sold out for a few months.

Pros
  • I have never paid so much for shoes. It's been a few months and they're still worth every penny. the time will show.
Cons
  • Limited color choices
