Not a true EE for hiking and trekking

A few years ago, New Balance started making EE hiking shoes. I was so excited! At last I had women's boots with narrow heels and a wide width, and on hikes I no longer wore men's boots and calluses. I've bought two in the last six years and needed a new boot. Unfortunately these are the only EE boots they make now and they fit more like a D because I compared them to my old boots. The latter is definitely smaller by 1/2 inch and the quality isn't that good. I should have known they wouldn't doโ€ฆ

Perfect yet comfortable walking shoes

I've been wearing these boots for over ten years now. This is the most perfect FUNCTIONAL shoe I have found. I wear them on my bike, hiking and walking. I always upgrade my arch support with powerstep inserts because the standard insert is just ridiculous. But the arch structure of the shoe is nice and stiff. Very protective. I can walk for hours and even balance on ledges. I also really like the anti-roll feature. I have a torn ankle that needs some soothing. All of this is fine, but theirโ€ฆ

The soles are gone! good for outdoor activities

It has been almost a year since I bought these shoes, although in total they are probably not worn for more than 100 hours. For the first two months, the sole of the right boot lagged behind the inside of the boot. I fixed it with Industrial Glue E6000 which held up well. Shortly after, the outside of the same shoe fell off and I did the same repair. Yesterday I repaired the left boot as the entire front of the shoe has come off the sole. The weird thing is that upon closer inspection I didn'tโ€ฆ

No break-in period, great support

I bought these for vigorous hikes in very steep mountains and wanted ankle support but didn't want to spend $200. I looked at many, many different hiking boots and hiking shoes and they seemed to fit me in terms of features and price. They don't look too ugly either! Right out of the box they felt comfortable right away and my feet felt great in them. I took her on a day hike that was challenging in terms of quality, but also featured a lot of loose shale and quartz that had broken loose during

The Last of the Tight Hiking Boots

This is the newest brand of hiking boots I've found in 2020 for women who are getting tight. I wore the vasque breeze and they stopped making constrictions. I even called Vaska to see if they had anything in stock to buy them all even though they were completely sold out. After ordering about 30 brands and going to REI to try on EVERY pair of women's boots, I found them in my running store. They are very comfortable and give good ankle support. I actually had to get special insoles as the balls

My favorite shoes are good for hiking. Boots

. But they are very light and comfortable. Big toe box. Haven't worn them on hikes yet, still wear them around the house, shopping etc. The sole has a slight wobble which is great for my worn ankles. The protective arch ensures good lateral stability. Great hiking shoe for its intended purpose. UPDATE: They have become my everyday shoes now. My ankle osteoarthritis was getting worse and making other shoes too painful to wear. I have New Balance pressure redistributing insoles in these boots and

Awesome boots for any terrain, including waterfall bottoms!

I needed a solid shoe for a trip to Iceland and the UK and it was bulletproof! I have a lot of foot problems (previously broken bones in my heel and ball of my foot) which means I have a lot of pain and fatigue in my foot. I also tend to dislocate my knee so I need non-slip shoes. I usually wear a size 10-10.5 and a size up to 11 knowing I will be wearing thick wool socks and my feet will probably swell a bit after long walks. They turned out to be a lot better than I thought: they are strongโ€ฆ
