DO NOT BUY Elitebook 850 Gen 1 -- Roasted my laptop

I installed it myself given the name and similarity to the fan in my (now dead) Elitebook 850 Gen 1. My laptop did though SOFORT stopped working after installing this fan. Upon further investigation, it turned out that this fan required 0.1 amps more than the standard fan, causing my motherboard to die and the computer to be beyond repair. I agree that I take some of the blame for not double checking that part before installing it, which I will definitely do in the future. However, the title of

Had a special challenge, did a great job

Fan failed, needs replacing. It matched the model in the description and worked right out of the box. Just be prepared to disassemble most of the computer to take out the fan and then install a replacement. This fan worked perfectly and was an inexpensive replacement for a dead part.

many screws best in internal components

fan works great. This was my first fan replacement on my HP. I counted a total of 30 screws (Torx and Philips) that I had to remove. Counsel others, take your time, have tweezers ready. HP could easily have designed the laptop case to be simpler, but they didn't.

Worked great but lasted less than 4 months! Great service but prefer a solid product.

This fan initially worked very well but became very noisy and wore out in less than 4 months. I contacted the manufacturer and they responded with a full refund in less than 24 hours. So I've raised my rating from 3 to 4 stars. Many Thanks. Great service but I received a bad product. Since I only received one device, it is possible that I received an inferior one. By the way, the installation in my HP EliteBook was very difficult and invasive. (2+ hours) I don't want to do this again!
