Description of πŸ”Œ NGK Part# 6482 CR10EIX Iridium IX Spark Plug, Single Pack, Universal Fit

Designed specifically for the performance enthusiast, Iridium IX offers extreme ignitability, improved throttle response and superior anti-fouling. The 0.6mm laser welded fine Iridium tip ensures high durability and a consistently stable spark and the tapered ground electrode minimizes electrical quenching effect. Longer insulator nose prevents fouling, the corrugated ribs on insulator prevents flashover, and a triple gasket seal eliminates combustion gas leakage. Iridium alloy has extremely high melting point, giving it high durability to heat and electrical wear, perfect for today's high-performance engines. Trivalent metal plating has superior anti-corrosion and anti-seizing properties.

Fits 2008 R6 Ignition and Electrical

They fit my 2008 Yamaha R6. They have one ground electrode versus the factory plug's two electrodes, but there's no noticeable difference in performance. If you are installing them in a similar vintage r6, the part that goes into the spool will need to be removed to reveal the threaded portion. Otherwise the coil will not sit properly on the connector. Compare it to the ones you draw to be sure.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Not as thick as other options

Ordered 4, 2 came in boxes

I don't know what happened but I ordered 4, 2 of them came in NGK like dozens of other candles I've bought, 2 came in plastic bags, I tried talked me into putting them on but just couldn't trust them not because of the amount of work it takes to fit them into my Yamaha Apex. They only get 3 stars as I love NGK and the only plug I will ever use, although I'm not sure what happened here.

Installed on a 2013 Suzuki DR-650, works great

Good spark plugs, easy to install, no noticeable difference in performance compared to stock. I bought these because Iridium plugs should last a lot longer (fewer changes means less thread wear and less chance of blowing the head off). UPDATE: February 2016 engine still starts and purrs like a kitten. I highly recommend these plugs. worth your money.

Better wheels and possibly faster turnover

I put them on my DR650 with .032 spacing. Old candles were some standard CR9s with a 0.022 gap. I should have checked the clearance after I bought the bike but the previous owner was a mechanic so I got rid of it. I had a tiny dead spot at the bottom and thought it was the needle. Then I installed these stubs. Deadzone is gone, low-end power has increased, rear wheels have improved and possibly faster revs. I really felt like I gained an HP or two. The DR650 really likes this connector.

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • Out of style

Good strong spark, durable

I use these on my 2003 Yamaha R6 in place of the factory recommended CR10EK (copper) spark plugs. With copper plugs, I found that I couldn't fully accelerate to redline under load because the spark died at high rpm (almost feels like a soft rev limiter). Replaced with iridium and the problem was solved immediately. In addition, iridium plugs last much longer, although they tend to wear out ignition coils faster due to the higher resistance. Overall, I would recommend switching from copper to…

Great for a 2005 DR650

Worked great on my 2005 DR650, the iridiums are great and last practically forever. Definitely worth a few bucks more than the standard fork. Also came with full approval. This connector should work on DR650s from 1996 to at least 2010, not sure on newer ones but check the forums and you should be able to find the answer easily. My old plugs were very dirty and causing spatter problems. I think my old spark plugs were pretty "hot" too, which certainly didn't help. They are considered standard…

  • There's something to it

  • Infinitely slow
