upset. best in category Kitchenware & Gadgets

I was looking for some more Zyliss bottle tops that I had bought from a specialty store/gift shop almost 20 years ago. The last one finally broke after so many years. The Norpros are very similar to my old Zyliss but unfortunately they were actually flimsy and didn't hold securely to the wine bottle. Disappointing.

Pros
  • Wide range
Cons
  • Reliability

Doesn't work on soda bottles

I bought this item to use on soda bottles but it's too small. The cork pops out of the bottle after you close it. I read reviews and some said it works on soda bottles so I ordered it. For me it was a waste of money. If you need it for a larger bottle like wine, this will likely fit it.

Pros
  • Glitter
Cons
  • Weak Set

They're good because when they're on the bottle, they're not.

These wine bottle stoppers work very well. I had no trouble sloshing the wine out of the bottle. I've actually turned the wine bottle upside down when they're on and the bottle doesn't leak. You have to be careful to put them on correctly so that they are straight and completely cover the opening of the bottle. They're good because when they're on the bottle they don't protrude much past the top of the bottle so the bottle still fits on the fridge shelf. Some corks are so tall that the bottleโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Hands-free
Cons
  • Interval

The "outdated " style was better.

The colored cork stopper is too big for the neck of a standard wine, soda or beer bottle. Since it sucks about 1/8 inch, it needs both hands to close the bottle. A fizzy liquid bottle that does not have a long neck, such as a a 6 ounce Perrier can knock this cork out. (The older the better, the circuit had a plunger that stretched the rubber stopper and made it thin enough to insert, and clips that hooked onto the edge of the bottle cap.)

Pros
  • Sealed Bottles!
Cons
  • socket required.

Great then not so good

I bought a set of these picks two or three years ago. They were perfect - just what we needed to cap our soda bottles. They fit well, stayed in, never jumped out or made a mess in the fridge like others we've tried. Then a few months ago we lost one, then another. So I ordered a new set. These new ones don't fit at all. They break down in bottles, some worse than others. They kept showing up. I'm disappointed. Maybe it was just an accident with the second set. I'm tempted to order another oneโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Rubber seal allows you to reseal the cork after opening to keep it fresh
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks

A little disappointed but great price

We use these to cap Ginger Beer bottles (we only use a small amount at a time and want the rest to stay sparkling). We have used similar plugs in the past that seal better than this one. The idea is that you insert the cork into the bottle and then press a small lever that safely expands the cork to the width of the bottle. The previous models we used stayed in place even in soda bottles. These don't stay in place. I think the problem is that the small locking mechanism just doesn't stretchโ€ฆ

Pros
  • corks fit most bottles.
Cons
  • Skimp Instruction
