Great for spotting broken dog fences

Works like a charm! This is a radio transmitter and receiver. The transmitter is connected to the fence wire and the receiver is the antenna that you swing over the wire. If the cable is not broken, the receiver will receive the radio signal and emit a beep. If you find a place with no signal, it's a broken place. Easy and fast. Best money I've spent in a long time. I had a 20 year old sprinkler valve buried about a foot underground for the control wire. My irrigator was using a $1,000 locator and couldn't find the valve. About 6 inches of grass accumulation/mulching etc. As a last resort, I took this out of the Revain box and pocketed it. It works, but it takes patience and practice.

I used this to find 5 missing sprinkler valves in my 16 zone system. The missing valves were buried under 2-3 inches of dirt and turf. I even found a buried junction box and area with 2 valves. Of course, the last valve found was a defective one. Many reviews say it doesn't work for sprinkler valves, but it does. It just takes patience, time, practice and even more patience, but it works!
