I've used them on a couple of hikes, the hiking boots always have rocks and dirt on them. These worked great. A little awkward to put on but once you put them on they work great. The hook goes forward.

I travel a lot in the desert. That means lots of dust, dirt and plants that like to leave dirt in your shoes. They work very well. They slip easily over sneakers/boots and the body isn't so tight that it's uncomfortable but just enough to keep things out. They can be cleaned by submerging them in water or throwing them in the wash. I hope they will last as these are a pair of lace pieces to match your shoes only time will tell.

Have used them a few times. They are easy to put on and take off. They also do their job of keeping dirt off my shoes and socks. I doubt they'll be that strong, but I haven't had a pair of these spats yet. What I like most about them is that the parachord stirrup is easy to replace if it breaks as it is not simply sewn piece by piece like all other leggings used for their stirrup. The only downside is that they are not breathable and on a hot day it can feel like your knuckles are in the oven…
