It worked right away. the best in computer components

I recently ordered a used Hue 2 lighting kit and paid a lot for it. Nzxt products are hard to find these days. After several hours of fiddling, I couldn't get it to work. So I sent it back and looked for something else. As it turns out, this simple Rgb & Fan device is newer than any Hue devices. And now it's much cheaper. Connected to 2x 140mm Aer 2 RGB fans on fan 1 and LED 1, 2x Aer-P Kraken fans with 2 other fan channels, Sata power supply, USB port. I turned on the camera and the arrow…

Patented RGB headers

The RGB connectors only work with some older NZXT fans, even the current ones. These are the same cables but a different connector (I don't know if they have a different pinout) so standard RGB connectors won't work. There's also an adapter cable, but NZXT refuses to sell it. SO ANNOYING. It's still useful for fan control if you have fan hubs, and allows you to set fan speed based on GPU temperature and not just CPU temperature, so this has some advantages. At least the CAM software now lets…

Replacing a faulty motherboard CPU fan controller; it worked fine

The BIOS for this system doesn't give enough control over the CPU fan (it runs too fast) so I bought it to replace it. Connectivity was trivial and the NZXT CAM software is really nice; It immediately started reading the CPU temperature and using it to control the fan in "Silent" mode, as you would expect. A note: if your BIOS doesn't allow you to disable CPU fan control, it will probably warn you. that there is no fan. You can "trick" it by connecting the fan speed output to both controllers…

Works great with my CPU cooler in my NZXT H510 Elite case

I replaced the fan on my CPU cooler with this fan in my NZXT H510 Elite case. I customized the CPU fan lights to mimic the same patterns as the fans on the front of the case and it looks great. Guest and I blocked him from connecting to the internet using Norton Firewall settings. There is absolutely no reason why NZXT should be collecting information about my fans or my system unless I specifically opt-in for some reason. This is a great fan if you have a compatible case/controller. It's quiet

Pros
  • A dream come true
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Use if you can; Attention data collection

These are great fans! In my case, they look amazing and don't seem to make a ridiculous amount of noise. As previously mentioned, NZXT CAM software is notorious for collecting data that you can't refuse. So take this into consideration before you buy them. I'll say I had my doubts about this, but I haven't seen much use of the network by the CAM software. It could be hidden somewhere else, or it could be because I didn't create an account for the software and am logging in as a "guest". I've…

Does what it's designed for and very well

Purchased to control multiple fans. For me it controls the speed of (6) 3-wire fans (2 per channel) so well. All 6 are controlled by CPU temperature (via USB) with 3 different configurable fan control profiles. It occupies a full dual USB port on the motherboard. I can remount it so that it only uses 1/2 the USB port as it only needs one of the two USB ports per port. My only real complaint about why it's 4 stars instead of 5 is that it creates an unnecessarily large amount of unexplained…

Counterfeit Product - Refurbished Condition NOT New

This product is a scam. I have received an obviously refurbished or counterfeit product (see photos). I was having issues with the HUE 2's controller. This was detected in the CAM software, but the AER fan LEDs were not receiving power. The actual fans are powered separately and work perfectly. I checked all the connections using a 4 pin Molex cable and USB and pinpointed the problem to the actual controller. I noticed that the connector for channel 1 looked bent and not flush with the outer…

Pros
  • Same as all
Cons
  • No

I gave the 510i Elite's case a very good review, but now I'm reconsidering as I've tried adding an expensive NZXT RGB fan to the rear: 1. The RGB controller only has two connectors. One for LED strips and one for fans. Not enough and very cheap to do it for your customers! 2. To have RGB fans, you need to connect the RGB headers between the fans, but NZXT sells these additional fans with an RGB cable that is too short to reach the front of the case.3. They then guess that you'll also need to…

  • Nice finish
