Great product for tools and equipment

Bought to use with my laptop to be able to run FORScan diagnostic software on my 09 Mustang GT and 09 Lincoln MKS (recommended by the FORScan authors ). The thing is connected and works. I didn't have to do anything as Win 10 Pro configured all this automatically as I plugged this dongle into a USB socket on my laptop and the FORScan software then read and configured it automatically. I connected it to the OBDII port in the car, turned on the key and connected FORScan, automatically read the…

Cheaper than going to the dealer and you have more options

This combined with the free Forscan software allows you to change so many settings even on older Ford vehicles. I have a 2011 Expedition and wanted to turn on the daytime running lights. I didn't want to spend a day driving it to the dealer and paying twice as much for the adapter. I also experimented with some other settings and turned off the seat belt reminder sound and changed the auto lock/unlock. I just earned; I've been waiting for my extended license, but I'm sure I'll look into it…

This OBDLink EX cable works perfectly as intended

There was some difficulty getting the correct driver onto the computer but once it was fixed the red light turned yellow as instructed. Previously I downloaded a scan program for my car, then plugged this cable into my laptop and then plugged it into the OBD2 port on the car, the light turned green meaning everything is ok and ready to use. He asked me to turn the ignition key to the "on" or "work" position. In a matter of seconds he was reading the computer modules installed throughout the…

Works great with diagnostic, test and measurement tools

OBDLink EX FORScan OBD adapter connects flawlessly. I have set the FORScan settings to "auto" for the COM port and the baud rate. I also set "connect automatically" and "increase automatically" and restarted the software. The great thing is that it doesn't require manual switching from HS (High Speed CAN) or MS (Medium Speed CAN) as is done electronically. I have previously bought another brand with a switch (see below). Constant manual switching of the HS/MS was required. The FORScan Software…

A GREAT choice for FORScan users!

First, I have a FOMOCO VCM II that I use every day, so I have something to compare OBDLink EX to. I'm amazed at what this thing is capable of! to show this VCM. I don't know if it had an effect or not, but when the cable arrived and I plugged it into the USB port, a yellow light came on immediately. I played with OBDWiz first, and if you're only interested in PCM troubleshooting or Check Engine Light diagnostics, a free program might come in handy, but it's a bit limited. I believe that paid…

Works as it should! Very nice gadget for my 2017 Ford F150!

Excellent product. I highly recommend the OBDLink EX FORScan OBD adapter. I feel more secure with USB as there is less chance of communication errors when connected directly. You need to be a bit techy or at least comfortable with it because you can do a lot of things with it and you can really mess things up if you're not careful. There are many resources out there. Specially for Ford F150. The only downside is that you need to use the Forsan software and most likely need to purchase a license

Pros
  • Nice thing
