Leather care only, no weather protection

It absorbs very well into the skin and some people like it better, but leaves so little residue on the surface that I don't notice any waterproofing effect. I used to get German saddle soap in this orange tin that smelled better like beeswax and worked a lot better, but I haven't been able to find it in years so I decided to give it a try. I'll try something different next time, especially for boots, but mostly I already use other pot holders. Definitely only leather care instead of weather…

First time with this

And this thing is AMAZING! I use dr. Jackson's Hide Rejuvenator in their leather projects for several years. I saw this product when I was buying more and thought I'd give it a try. Doc J's is a creamy paste, more of a balm. Doc J's doesn't spread evenly because it's a cream. This material is like a hard balm that melts when your warm hand (even with a nitrile glove) runs over it and collects at your fingertips. For example, lipstick that takes on the consistency of baby oil when touched. At…

Softens the skin

I use heavy rough leather work gloves that get dirty. From time to time I need to wash my gloves and brush dirt off of them. But when the gloves dry out, they become extremely hard and unwieldy. I applied this balm to the cured gloves, rubbed for a few minutes and left the gloves on overnight. The next day they were soft again and very comfortable to wear. For my work gloves it was everything I hoped for. But it was evident that the gloves had changed from light gray to a much darker grey…

Possibly BEST in its category

Possibly the best leather treatment ever. It provides an amazing waterproofing for real leather shoes, and last but not least, shoes that get wet in places that contain mold spores (many places you never expect) will not mold at all! I tested a pair of old, plain, genuine leather shoes that had been treated with Obenauf's durable LP and boxed them up with a pair of shearling Uggs that had hiked hundreds of miles in snowy, wet Minnesota. in winter (completely covered with mold, the soles are…

Good material for skin care

I read in a news article about using beeswax for leather. I looked for a beeswax leather treatment on Amazon and found this one. What helped me was that in the England review the guy stated that he used it on leather and wood stock. Nobody writes about it in fake reviews, so I took a chance. So far I've covered my 20 year old leather sofa, a 120 year old German SXS shotgun butt, Thursday Boot Co boots, a burl and wood whistle on a 100 year old steamship trunk. It's good. I've been using Snow…

The thing is magic

I was a bit skeptical about the thing when I first heard about it. Snowseal seemed to be the choice of most winter professions. Still, I gave it a chance and was blown away. I will admit that I use Sno-Seal AFTER applying this material but it penetrates deeper into the skin. After testing this product on my Kinco gloves, I applied it to my Timberlands. Preppy New York Boys might tell you "YOU SHOULD NOT DO THIS TO TIMBS" but. I had no intention of leaving my $150 leather boots unattended. It…

Preferred product over mink oil

I had never heard of this product until I saw Pat Puckett's video of him using it on his saddles. If it's good enough for him, I'll at least try. I used to use mink oil for skin care but found it difficult to apply and the scent wasn't my favorite. This product decomposes very quickly. solid, semi-solid, almost liquid very quickly. I applied it to my new hiking saddle which was completely dry and the leather is very supple now. I love how it darkens my rough saddle, if you don't like it don't…

Skin loves it!: Auto Care

I live on the Washington/Idaho border and was pleasantly surprised to see this stuff converted to Peck. I bought these for my work boots in Georgia for office use only and occasional use at work. Not heavy use at all. The boots were new and slightly scratched. I applied LP and it darkened the skin a bit but removed the scuffs. Sometimes I get worn out and a quick touch up will make the boots look perfect again. I preheated the oven to 200 degrees, put the boots in for about 10 minutes, then…

Doesn't remove abrasion but maintains well

Top applied shoes are REMOVED IN OTHER BACK PHOTOS except Timberland photos where Top applied to right side of boot All shoes have been washed Photos Saddle soap and treated with Bickmore's Bick 4 Conditioner before applying Obenauf's (a little overkill I know). Seems to be a good conditioner/protector for heavy skin, I chose Obenauf's. due to rumors that mink oil can cause skin degradation and putrefaction. Worried about sudden showers or puddles. On more natural textured leathers (my Johnston
