Fits my 2015 VW Golf Sportwagen TDI. 1 star deduction because the string is too long and the MDI connector (side mounted) is difficult to maneuver in the carport - so much so that you never want to take it out. These two things together mean that the chord always takes up the entire center console cabinet.

This is the fourth MDI cable I've tried for my VW Eos with a legacy media input. All of the first three worked as auxiliary cables, but it kept charging because the Lightning connection was weak. Although it's not an iPhone connection, it works with my adapter and the sound quality is excellent. I wish it could act as a charger but being just an auxiliary device is MUCH better than the ones that had my phone beeping and buzzing the whole ride because they were trying to charge but couldn't.

It played music well but had no car interface support (to skip or navigate songs) and strangely and very annoyingly wouldn't let you stop or pause the music. Even when closing the application on the phone, the music turned on again after a few seconds. The only option was to turn off the phone and that didn't work for me. I also bought the Bovee Wireless Car Kit for AUDI (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R2HZ1XU) which is much larger. expensive but it worked. I ended up leaving this product

I just got that in the mail. If my opinion changes over time, I will update this review. So far this MMI cable is exactly what I needed. It works very well on my 2012 Audi A4 Quattro S line. It beats the $70 retail price. It does its job perfectly and the longer cable allows to play movies on phones/tablets and computers through the audio system in my car, great enjoyment for my kids on long journeys. Unfortunately, my cable did not fit. This does not activate the external audio input option in the MMI. I've tried multiple times and many different things with no change. It was inactive because the MMI never recognized that it was connected. The attached image shows what the AUX (external audio input) input should look like when it detects that a cable has been connected.
